hey guys, dropped my berry yesterday and now whenever i turn on the phone a white screen just pops up and stays there, does not turn off just stays on the white screen. Anywhere I can find more about this online or if it is salvagable?

Teh Doucher 01-03-2010 10:44 AM

try re-flashing the OS first, if that doesn't work then maybe your screen is fucked?

Graeme S 01-04-2010 09:36 PM

http://forums.crackberry.com/f83/off...bility-399035/

it says OS5.0.0.411, but the OS pack is .661

Downloaded, installing soon.

RIM still loves the 9000 users..lol

Graeme S 01-04-2010 09:51 PM

FYI: this is an east asia update, so for those of you who want asian language support, this is your upgrade.

jerche 01-05-2010 11:28 PM

I heard you need a sms, gps and browser fix for .411??
Anyone have the files for it?

TIA

Graeme S 01-06-2010 02:48 AM

I had no problems for any of those. I think those are only for AT&T users down south.

Teh Doucher 01-06-2010 09:05 AM

.411 has been absolutely flawless for me

I have some stuff on my phone I want to get back, so I don't want to flash it yet. I think I'm just going to take it in to get it fixed, I don't want to mess it up any further. Anyone know anybody or any good places to fix the damn white screen? TIA

Gh0stRider 01-06-2010 03:58 PM

^^^ backup your stuff.

Graeme S 01-06-2010 08:39 PM

Day 1 report: battery life is back up. I've used it for a full day, not plugged it in once, and I'm still at 20ish%. Way better than the .411 beta.

Still not as good as the old 4.6 for battery life, but by damn, it's worth it.

TekDragon 01-06-2010 09:18 PM

Feels a lot better for battery for me. I can go 2.5-3 days without charging. Snappy response, it reminds me of when I first got it.

Graeme S 01-06-2010 09:19 PM

Holy crap, man, how little do you use your berry?

(Alternatively: how the hell much do I [over]use mine?)

LsquareD 01-10-2010 03:57 PM

Hmm.. I'm having troubles trying to update to OS5.0.0.411. I'm currently running on v4.6.0.303. I downloaded the OS Graeme S posted (http://forums.crackberry.com/f83/off...bility-399035/) and installed it. This is actually my first time updating the firmware by myself hahaha. My buddy helped me update the first time. So i'm using this guide to help me out (http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/prop...ocedure-53359/)

When I plug my phone in and open Desktop Manager.. it doesn't seem to give me an option to update my firmware?

Help please :) TIA

Graeme S 01-10-2010 04:00 PM

DM won't always help you. In the same folder that you (hopefully) deleted vendor.xml there should be a program called "appload" or "apploader".

If you run that instead of DM, it should give you the option to install.

When I first moved up to os5 using my netbook, it told me to restart after installing OS5 on my computer, but then wouldn't let me upgrade. I tried installing without restarting, and that worked. Try both of those and let us know.

MAKE FUCKING SURE YOU BACK SHIT UP. I got my phone cleared when I updated. That licked balls. I always back shit up juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust in case. Both the autobackup, and a seperate pre-autobackup.

You actually install the download package and then go open up Apploader. I don't remember where to find it but if you google where is apploader.

LsquareD 01-13-2010 06:40 PM

.411 been working great for me but my Application Memory is always under 10mb after I updated. I don't even have that much application running either. Pretty shitty!

Anybody else ever run into wifi connectivity issues?

Sometimes my wifi works and other times it doesn't. I only connect to the wifi at home and at the office and it use to work perfectly fine. Now I connect but the wifi icon is grey and there is no check mark beside the network name :(

Klobbersaurus 01-13-2010 09:38 PM
