Does anyone know if the movie was actually filmed using IMAX cameras sort of like Dark Knight? or Did they just adapt the movie to IMAX?

Grandmaster TSE 02-18-2009 01:30 PM

hal0g0dv2 02-28-2009 08:58 PM

wtf they are changing the ending

+Kardboard+ 02-28-2009 09:02 PM

Yeah, that's long been known, but only recently have they fessed up to it. Something about post-9/11 sensitivities and that stuff.

DanHibiki 02-28-2009 09:48 PM

^ I don't get it. What does the original ending have to do with 9/11? I mean I can see it's purpose is almost the same but not the median used to execute the purpose.

+Kardboard+ 02-28-2009 09:52 PM

The original ending was super gory. You ever read the graphic novel? If not, take a peek at it and look at the beginning of the chapter 12. They didn't want to show that, but apparently the ending will serve the same purpose as the original. We'll see.

DanHibiki 02-28-2009 10:04 PM

^ yes i read the comic. I see now.

And ya, like the reviewer said in the video I posted, the change in the ending serves the same purpose

hal0g0dv2 03-02-2009 10:42 PM

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...gon=&langid=EN cool
also kinda coo when u buy the movie when it comes out it is going to include the side comic part Tales of the Black Freighter, i just kinda skimmed over that

DanHibiki 03-02-2009 11:16 PM

^I downloaded the motion comic. I kinda like it better than actually reading it but it's wierd how he does all the voices including the women's. But he's very good at changing his voices up.

The dvd of the movie will have an ultimate extended version with lots of the scenes that were cut out for theatrical time limit purposes as well as having the black freighter incorporated throughout the movie as the comic did.

Grandmaster TSE 03-03-2009 12:11 PM

gonna re-read the graphic novel before i watch the movie

DanHibiki 03-03-2009 03:28 PM

on movietickets.com where you can buy the tickets, it doesn't say if its IMAX or not. How do I know?

El Bastardo 03-04-2009 03:51 AM

From what I've read, the DVD/Blu Ray edition will be the most faithful because it'll be properly intercut with the Black Freighter story.

Did anyone see the size of the set out in New West/Burnaby along Marine Dr. near that Save-on and Canadian Tire? It was fucking HUGE.

I have no idea what this movie is about other then it involves superhero type characters and I like it that way. I'm going to see it this weekend with no expectations at all, looking forward to it.

Expresso 03-05-2009 11:02 AM

Seems like for the average movie goer they aren't going to appreciate it as much as a person that has read the novel. Hope for the best!

Alpine 03-05-2009 12:36 PM

My friends invited me to the advance screening of the Watchmen yesterday night.
Please keep in mind that I have not read the novel. The only thing i knew about this movie beforehand was that it was about a group of conflicted superheroes.

Spoiler!
