2 hours and half, pretty long movie which is fine. I understand they are tryin to explain and build each character and shit, except the smartass. Fight seen was alrit, sex scene was good. but the ending was like WTF, doesnt make any fucking sense especially warshack's part

watever

Rorschach.....not worcestershire or anything else -___-;

How did it not make sense? He did what he wanted to do ever since he became a superhero, save the world. But rather than all the pointless crime busting that didn't make much of a difference, he realized what the real problem was and what he had to do to fix it.

Rorschach died because he refused to keep it a secret.

I dunno why that was hard to understand.

i thoroughly enjoyed the movie being a fan of the comic, but i can see how the general audience might have a tough time appreciating it in the same light. its definitely not going to appeal to just anyone...

overall a very well done and faithful adaptation!

i saw the 4:30 show at the imax here in london. and by 4:30, i mean 4:30 in the morning... all the other shows were sold out, so we stayed up late to watch it.

i enjoyed the movie - even if i was super tired and it was a little long. i really like the camera angles and the overall style of the movie. the sex scenes seemed a little out of place - and Mr manhatten's penis was so not necessary. he should just wear a loin cloth the entire time.

werd, it does make sense its just that logically speaking, killing millions to save billions is kind of...ummm epic? unreal? like if they are superheros they would think every life is priceless? hence the idea killing millions
Spoiler!

o well

They are for the most part pretty flawed, I think you have to make the distinction that they are not your typical superheroes...

Spoiler!

Again, the sort of thing someone that didn't understand the movie would say.

Gt-R R34 03-08-2009 02:02 PM

wow mixed reviews

Grandmaster TSE 03-08-2009 02:07 PM

most people don't know what watchmen is about, its not about just fighting and so on like all the other superhero movies, you gotta understand the meaning behind everything and so on
recommend you read the graphic novel, its great, beautiful work

i dont know maybe im just pissed rorscharch died lol, he was like the character with a personality. Besides manhantem? the blue due was like untouchable, he just wont die. (should've kept his underwear on at all times tho)...kinda weak. And rorschach was his partener man
o well

Like Ronin says...you don't get it. I suggest you go buy/borrow the book and read it.

I wanted to go see this last night but we ended up returning our tickets and going out with a couple of girls. After reading the reviews, I am probably going to watch it, and then make up my own mind on it

Since when do all superheros think all lifes are priceless??

Have you seen X-men? Wolverine's killing people left and right.

Ironman killed those terrorists.

Punisher?

There are plenty of superheroes who kill.

The goal for the superheroes was to "save the world", and he did just that. Saving the world doesn't mean saving all lifes. Why do we go to war? Why did we fight in WW2? We knew people would die. Soldiers will die. Cilvilians. Why did the US bomb Hiroshima? It's all for a greater good. (well of course the Hiroshima bombing is a controversial thing but I'm just using it as an example from the gov't's point of view when they launched it and not giving my opinion about the morality of it).

murd0c 03-08-2009 07:17 PM

the question I have is how was it supposed to end?

hal0g0dv2 03-08-2009 07:20 PM

have to look at the bigger picture

they never really go into detail why/how it changes. its just a special order fabric apparently, that just does.

murd0c 03-08-2009 08:15 PM

One thing that drove me crazy was the non-stop shots of the hammer through the whole movie WTF?!?!?

hal0g0dv2 03-08-2009 08:52 PM

On another note that Silk Specter is fucking hawt. I got a boner watching certain scenes with her. She has great legs.

quasi 03-08-2009 09:03 PM

The best line in the movie.

Spoiler!

Because that's what a rorschach is. An ink blot that appears to move to whatever YOU want it to see. ie., when the doctor showed the rorschach to Rorschach, he saw a dead dog.

ofcourse if it WAS real life, the inkblots wouldn't actuall be shifting but for imagery sake, they put the effect in for the movie

El Bastardo 03-09-2009 03:08 AM

Malin Akerman is in Harold and Kumar (shes the wife of the guy with the boils on his face) and has a topless scene, for anyone who wants to see whats beneath the lycra
