wow, the fact you wrote that makes me suspect you use that as a "selling" point when you try to sell the G3. "well atleast with the G3 you don't have to worry about sitting on the fuel tank like the Honda Fit cause you know in an accident that fuel tank in the middle of the car is going to blow up like a bomb and you will die!", goes something like that? Just curious, what is safer, a tank in the middle of the car where the only way it "could" be struck would be Hard t-bone in which case the fuel tank location will be the least of your issue, or a tank near the rear where a good rear ender could "strike" the tank? I guess there is no perfect location but to use it as a "selling" point to buy another car is kind of sad to me.

oh my god who cares

Type R 12-15-2008 04:09 PM

LOL, yep I base my entire presentation just like that. It actually comes up when we talk about the fits/G3 rear storage, and I explain how honda was able to make a larger area. I also talk about the fits excessive interest rates and price. I'm honest with my customers, and tell them that I think the Fit is a well made car, I give them the facts and let them decide.

I've worked for Wheaton for 2 years and have been top guy both years, and haven't needed to resort to cheeseball tactics and misinform my customers to get there. Today I had a call from a customer who's still shopping, asking about when we are going out of business, because the boys across the street at Toyota told her that we are closing our doors.

I agree with Fastam on the Fit. They haven't been on the road long enough for you to claim that. I will say its a better build than its bretheren on the road. But its also (again) far far more expensive in comparison. And I personally don't like the idea of sitting on the gas tank (literally) when i'm driving. .

you cant argue on the fit issue, if it wasnt against all sort of privacy laws then i would post the service info i have on a fit with 215 000 kms as 2 weeks ago, it is a car driven daily buy a local buisness that runs 2 different drivers full time, they bought the car new in late 06 as on 07 m.y. car. there is also another running 190 or so with a local parts outfit, it has had a door lock replaced at one point tho, as the puzzle lock in it failed. as it stands tho, you will have to just take my word for it.

and gas-tank? please
so its ok for your passengers to sit on the gas tank, but not you? that is kind of retarded, you have sold more g3 hatchbacks over fits simply because they are cheaper, cheap people lease cheap junk, thats a fact.

edit...I've had a bad day...not fair to take it all out on this thread :)

Coles notes: Having driven both and seeing the experiences ppl are having with them (g/f has a Fit with 78K, her friend has an Aveo of the same year with not even half the km, g/f hasn't had a problem, her friend's constantly pissed off), I'll take a Fit any day of the week, thank you :) Make mine an '08 Sport in that nifty misty blue only the States got...

jeffh 12-16-2008 10:55 PM

^ love fits, im not sure if im sold on the new bodystyle yet tho, but they are technically better in everyway.

ill take my 08 in white please

Type R 12-17-2008 09:40 AM

the 08s actually aren't as safe as the 09s in crash ratings

Great68 12-17-2008 10:07 AM

I can't believe we're arguing about Fits and Aveos.

No self respecting man should be driving either of those.

bingo...by his logic the Aveo is a far superior vehicle to the Enzo because it sells more...

Type R 12-17-2008 05:02 PM

And these cars are built to compete in an entry level class aka cheap. Honda used to dominate this class, what happened? 24k For a fully loaded entry level vehicle strikes me as a little steep.. Who needs HID's in their grocery getters?

Don't have a fit man.

Wait a minute, you drive a Miata... I'm not going to say it hahaha

I seem to have struck a chord with subcompact loving crowd. Next you'll be telling me how much I should love fireflys and echos.

I'm sure he's heard whatever retarded comment you were gonna make about him driving a Miata...

If you hate subcompacts so much, how come you drive one more than your beloved Mustang mmmkay?

Hold on. Don't put words in my mouth. If I had the choice I'd choose neither.

But it will be a cold day in hell before a Fit, Aveo, G3, Yaris, Echo, Aerio, Versa or any other car in that class would be my next daily driver.

I wasn't going to make a comment him driving a Miata.
I was going to say I understand why he would need to provide a retort to my comment :D

Dirt
Scratches
Door Dings
Snow
Rain
Fiancee ramming into Boss' pickup

All things that suit a shitty Honda more than a nice, restored, shiny, Classic Mustang.
