Depends on how the testing was done. If you look at the ice-racers classings, putting nuts and bolts through your tires > studded snow tires > non-studded snow tires. :thumbsup:

Point was the ice racers would be the best test for tires on ice. And they place studded tires over non-studded tires.
But yeah, watching cars going 120 km'h and setting up for a turn on ice and watching them actually turning on ice is amazing.

Have had Michelin X-Ice on my '84 Accord for just over two years now. Really happy with them. I use them year round and rotate them on a regular basis. Cannot get them to wear down. Have at least three quarters of the tread left (nice even wear on all of them). They're good in all conditions. It's a light car and most of my driving is on the freeway, so that's probably why the tires have done so well. Best investment ever.

You'd be hard pressed to find deals now. Cuz it's SNOWING. Try buying winters in the summer time.

Hankook I*pike RC01 from CDN Tire. They are incredible for the price i paid. I was testing them out on the black ice by slamming on the brakes on the sidestreets. Did not fishtale or slip or slide. Also no trouble going up snowy hills. I was passing everyone at the UBC Highway where everyone was going 40KM/hr, even this damn RangeRover 4x4 swerving all over the place... well i wasn't going that fast, just 60km/hr. I accelerated normally at red lights, no slipping.

For the price, they were definitely worth it. I was having trouble intentionally breaking them loose today.

i just have all seasons (picked up at the border yesterday) that were also installed yesterday...driving slowly, it does the job...bf goodrich for under 50 bucks each...

jokes aside it is a great thing to go to a mall or something to try the car and its handling because it can help and save you. sometimes the brakes don't help as much as the throttle

Hahahah... it's 40 litres, actually... and they are both chained into the carrier. The truck is shorter than a Miata, runs a 2.25L four cylinder, and has provisions to carry 180 litres of gasoline, which I'm increasing to 220.

ahh, thats right, finally found the model of the winters i got on.

bridgestone blizzak ws-50s. discontinued but pretty good tire so far. cept when i gas it too much and swing out the rear

but its good to know my ABS and VSC traction control works!

i haven't tried my lacoste summers cause the profile on the sole is only like 1mm or less haha, but the tread wouldn't so shit lol, i would totally pk as soon as i put my foot down. i'll take a pic of the tread later tonight haha.

my airwalks are doing pretty decent with their honeycomb patern =p

today i just mounted my Michelin X-Ice Xi2 and i am completely amazed. compared to my old bridgestone ws-50 its like night and day. i can accelerate way harder and brake much faster. so far ive had no wheel lock in the ice or snow and my bridgstones would slip at the smallest trace of ice.

^ I wonder where I can get my feet aligned, the tread pattern on my shoe is showing excessive + camber....:haha: I'll post up pics later....
