I went to NCIX to price match $419 last week on 1000he, they told me $439 is the lowest or it will be "below cost". :p That was last Thursday and now they are selling for $409. So much for the "below the cost" talk. |

^ you wish. Move on. K that 409 deal got me worked up, and you're right about the chinese no bargain deal, but atleast he's charging me 1 tax.. So around 465 after tax? still not bad ...I hope the dual atom doesnt come out right after i get this... |
^ come on. be a man. :p lol. it's still good deal. I paid $490+ last week for my boss' 1000he. he wanted one for quick email and asked me to pick up at nxic. :p nah, dual atom not yet. but nvidia ion is coming soon. ;) when a small laptop at around $400, even if the new one comes out, u can easily sell the one u have and lose only a little. back in the day I paid $3k for my 16" 1600x1200 Sony laptop, I end up selling it for $1k after a little more than a year. :( |

How "soon" is "soon" for the nvidia ion? Before next fall "soon"? :D Edit: Nevermind, looks like June. Linky Linky |
^ yap, just 1 month away in theory. :) |
Well announcements ie make and models will probably be in June. However actual product may not be for sometime. |
^ and that's probably enough time for me to get bore with 1000he. ;) |
whatever im really satisfied with the eee wont be looking forward to upgrading for another year.. NOW TIMET O UPGRADE TO 2gb ram.... Easy access to the ram slot? |
yup. 2 screws and pop it open. change the HDD for a 500 GB while youre in there looolll |
yap, got my 2GB DDR2 800 so-dimm ordered last week ($28 from NCIX). 64GB SSD from !MiKrofT is ready too. :D my 1000HE is home waiting for me now. :) or maybe I should just sell it before I open it.... to put the money in my new car tomorrow..... :) |
i dont really need 500gb LOL! and damn if i change the HDD that means, id have to reinstall xp on my own??! |

download Ture Image trial and it's allowed for 15 days or so. simple and easy. hook up new drive via USB (get a 2.5" SATA enclosure). Once clone is done, swap the drive and that's all. http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing...oad/trueimage/ |
^ I'm not a computer wiz unfortunately, and 160gb is more than enough for me. I just want 2gb ram. The ram is really just, Slip and slide right? |

http://www.laptopmag.com/advice/how-...000he-ram.aspx http://www.laptopmag.com/uploadedIma.../1000he_2a.jpg HD is similar, just more screw, that's all. I am down-grading the size to 60GB but faster SSD. :D 320GB 7200rpm would be a good choice to upgrade if you want it to be a bit faster in loading Windows. The whole Atom is limited not just on the memory, but also the HD speed. |

got my 1000he tonight. the blue one is actually dark navy blue. looks almost like black. much better than the picture show on the Internet. I am glad. :) got my 2gb ddr2 800 installed. clone it onto the 60gb ssd. it's all good. wireless is awsome compare to AAO. download a nvidia driver for testing and got 1.3mb/s where as my AAO is only 700~800kb/s BTW, ion is coming out very soon. the driver for ion is available on nvidia already. |
^ Yeah the wireless N is pretty nuts, loving it. Downloads so much faster. And the F9 function is pretty good, considering i got a virus when i was searching for some anti-virus program and accidentally clicked on some random popup. =( |
Yeah wireless N is great. Nothng like transferring ISO's at 13MB/s off my desktop haha. My next mod might be to swap out the wireless card for a Wireless N Mac compatible one.. and Dualboot OSX muwahaha. |
asus eeee 1000he still pwns all the newer asus coming out =D. hands down. OFFTOPIC**** What is a good program to songs from your ipod to the computer? Searched around for a few but they Pay 2 Use. |
