Hey HX workers:
Any ETA on the Re-AKT and Krown helmets? I tried on the E700 and fell in love, but I want to see if I can do any better than that with the newcomers.
Plus, any idea when the next F&F event is coming?

re-akt helmet should be in june, with the new Nexus gear.
The Krown is still unknown but i think it should be in the fall.
Both helmets are already in the system, and the Re-akt with the new Titanium cage is a REALLY good deal. Under $200 for high end helmet and their new lightweight cage (that doesnt look like the old itech bubble)
No idea when next F&F is.

I'm rocking one of the Itech Ti cages...its awesome. I used to use the cage just for ice and half visor for roller, but with the Ti cage's low weight I use it for roller too now just for the added piece of mind. Miles lighter than my old steel cages, no corrosion to worry about. Not worth $200 (old Itech pricing), but at the $79 pricepoint for the re-akt cage, well worth the upgrade from your traditional cage at $40-50.

I want to see the improvement over the 9900. Holding both the Itech Ti and 9900, there's very little difference imo. Never used the Itech, but the visibility of the Bauers from the 8500 onwards has kept me hooked.

I am in the market for a new visor since my old one is 2 years old and getting pretty scuffed up. If the new Ti one is that great, then that will be my next purchase.

Hey guys I'm looking for a new stick. I just started playing ice hockey and have been using a cheap wooden stick since I remember reading that it's better to use a wooden one to get a feel for the puck.
I'm looking at getting a composite one and was womderingmifnyounguys had any suggestions.

ie. one95, s17-s19, warrior dolomite, etc..

Sometimes local shops will have cheaper sticks. I saw $150 S19s at Cyclones a couple weeks back. They're still $170 + shipping on Hockey Monkey.
What specs are you looking for? I'm sure a couple guys on here have sticks they'd sell.

How tall are you and how much do you weigh?
As a general rule of thumb, stick flex should be half of your body weight. But, getting a lower flex stick makes shooting easier especially if you are a newer player or a weaker skater.
Knowing this, then we can give you better suggestions.

I'm 5"6 and I weight about 140. I really don't know much about the different specs as well  I've just been using the wooden stick that I have now.
I'll check Cyclone's to see if they have anything on sale too.

You should be looking for a 75flex SR or Intermediate. If you can't, then head over to BASE hockey and get one fitted for you. But if you ask me, I'd suggest sticking with wooden sticks for the next couple years and get used to shooting first. Posted via RS Mobile | |

A 75 flex is going to be too stiff for him once he cuts an inch or 2 from it.
ForbiddenX, your best bet is to look for intermediate sticks in the 67 flex range.
Don't go for anything too low end like Bauer One20's as they will be very heavy.
I think they may have some One60's.

If you really want to go the composite route then maybe look into an Intermediate sized shaft and blade combo.

I believe rule of thumb for flex rating when cutting is 5flex stiffer per 1". 2flex softer when adding 1".
Shaft/blade combo is another option like Mickz mentioned. I'd stay away from low end OPS and get the more expensive wood sticks and just work on your shooting form. Posted via RS Mobile | |

Is there any reason why you want to keep your gloves and repalm them? Last time I asked, the cost of repalming a pair of gloves was almost as much as a new pair.

Unless you have a super nice pair of gloves that is discontinued (ex. Pre-Vaughn buyout Eagles, MIA MB11/MB22, etc) then it's probably more cost efficient just to buy a new pair.
Other guys can chime in with a firmer price but the last I checked it was hovering around $80/pair for a basic palm replacement. More money if you want a fancier palm.
