The blazers have NO scorers on the bench so I see Gerald being the 6th man now. Roy will only play 12-15 min a game now so that'll probably be around 6-10points. Fernandez is not consistent enough as well. they need wallace if they want to contend. .. This trade makes A LOT of sense for them

411ken 02-24-2011 01:28 PM

Smart trade by the celts too.. don't get me wrong... they went and got someone that can try and guard the likes of LeBron/Melo and also can play some PF...

GREAT trade for the thunders IMO... they got bigger AND tougher too as they also got Nazr Mohammed.

And WTF has happened to Mayo.. :(

LMFAO "THUNDERS" LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Anyway, the Mayo trade has been nullified after it was revealed that it was submitted after the deadline. Mayo stays in Memphis.

I highly doubt that Wallace becomes the 6th man. I see Batum being the 6th man. Blazers can also go small-ball at times with Andre, Matthews, Batum, Wallce, Aldridge.

Can someone explain the Perkins deal to me?

I understand that BOS needed a perimeter scorer of the bench but why would they give up Perkins? Are they counting on Shaq to be healthy? Because that's a huge risk. And... if they play ORL in the playoffs, I can see Dwight average a 30-20.

411ken 02-24-2011 02:33 PM

^ cuz they get green... he can guard the other stars and still put up 15ppg...and they have Krstic now to just use as a center...PLUS they get the Clippers 1st rounder in 2012. I'm not saying this jsut because I'm not a fan of the Celts but Perkins CAN be easily replaced.

They can let Dwight put up 30 points... as long as the other gets shut down, the magic ain't winning...

Don't get me wrong, good move for BOTH teams.

Either/or.. doesn't really matter.. as long as the other puts up points from the bench as nobody else would be able to do so consistently.

Wallace and Batum are both good defenders so can't go wrong with whoever starts and has the hot hand

dlo 02-24-2011 03:14 PM

roflwaffle604 02-24-2011 04:15 PM

what a crazy "trade season" it has been this year! so many big, totally unexpected trades, a shift of power from west to east, and a few blockbusters to add.

LookHere_Sucka 02-24-2011 04:43 PM

I was hoping the Raptors would make some major moves. Hopefully the NBA ends up with a hard cap so there won't be anymore dynasties

liu13 02-24-2011 06:07 PM

eeew Krstic as a Celtic centre, that is so wrong

i feel worried for the Celtics even though i hate them

Well Bargnani is pretty decent, but yeah other than those 2 the rest sucks

liu13 02-24-2011 07:22 PM

i wouldnt go as far as to call him decent, when his contract is about to expire he'll be worth more

everyone knows he doesnt play a lick of defense

G-spec 02-24-2011 07:24 PM

What you guys don't like hard-nosed players just superstars, basketball is a lot more than that

You can't tell me Calderon isn't a legit top 10 point guard in the league, he is... And back to hard nosed, Reggie Evans game is exactly that, Philly niggas go the hardest, Amir Johnson cleans up all garbage within 10 feet of him so does Ed Davis...
Lot of other good young players on the Raptors, but yea they suck enough to have a very bad record unfortunately, I blame Triano, they will never fire their Canadian sweetheart though... Other guy that is to blame is Colangelo, dude has no idea what to do with his options, he's picked up so many garbage players and wasted way too many picks for the Raptors... But his daddy is a big shot in the NBA front office so he's not losing his job, that's for sure

Just finished watching the Heat game, D wade had a mental fart when he left Deng open, Lebron was all over Rose needed no help... Celtics Nuggets game on currently, Nuggets look good without Melo

G-spec 02-24-2011 09:11 PM

Liu check the top 25 assist list for this year, Calderon is 5th... So we talkin pg's as in pure point guards, and on your list very few pure pg's that know how to run every play very well.
Guys on that list like Evans and Parker, I mean Parker is like 16th or something on the top 25 assist men, Evans isn't even on the top 25. And Calderon is averaging around 10 assists a game, that's up there with Nash, Paul, Rondo think about that for a second before you say you would choose a CJ Watson over Calderon.
Lot of guys you're listing just happen to play PG but very few are true PG's the way Calderon is, he's a world champion and like I already said, this season he's up there with the top 5 pg's far as assists go, and also don't forget his turnover ratio as well it's fucking great..

So basically looking at the stats this season as far as assists and turnovers are concerned which is a point guards only job pretty much, hell Calderon is even further up than my original top 10 estimation

So who is going to start at centre for Celtics now? Shaq? Who will back him up? Isn't Jermaine O'neal still injured, or are they going to use Big Baby as backup centre?

edit: NVM, didn't see they also got Krstic
