It is FAR more embarrassing to have a team 'take it easy' on you.....the most coach could have done was take off any type of full court pressure and play the so-called 'bench' players....There is nothing else he could've done....what, you want them to run down the clock and pretty much play keep-away on the offense??....no, you play with full effort for a full 48 minutes....if you don't, not only is it disrespectful to the other team, but disrespectful to the game itself......moreover, you get better from your opponents playing to their best ability, so really, they did Nigeria a favour in every aspect... |
I would not want them to slack off or"stop playing" rather instead they should have just done something they haven't done all olympics..... actually run some plays! This would have slowed down their point production and would have served them some good, because they will have to eventually run plays against other better teams. All they've been doing so far is running and gunning using D'Antonis system, not really running any set plays at all. For example when I was watching the Russia vs China game when the ruski's were up big, I hear the russian coach in the huddle tell his players this exact thing "Ok guys we're up big, let's actually run some post plays from now on" got it downloaded gonna watch the game later when I get home from work see what happened, curious to see how Farouq Al-Aminu did, I really like that kid's game, he's a poor man's Luol Deng but the potential is there for more |

theres nothing you can do when the US bench did most of the beating lebron kobe and durrant barely played |
|
Is the Olympics 40 minutes each game? Imagine if team USA had 48 minutes... It could easily go 200 points. I think the team should play your best. I didn't see any unnecessary show off dunks from the highlights. |
I think the entire world expects the dream team to steamroll everyone abd bigger lead the better. Otherwise , they'll Jus get criticized on how weak the team is, mo chemistry... So the team has no Choice but to play hard imo. Plus it doesn't hurt when almost 30 threes went in |

lol, I didnt mean better than the USA team, i meant better than what they've been up against so far, Tunisia, Nigeria... i know they whipped Spain but that was a pure exhibition game I just got home from work bout to watch the game right now, so really Aminu didn't do shit ?? fck I was a fan of this kid when he was a rook on Clippers, people saw potential in him.... he looks really soft mentally to me though, like way to casual so is anybody pissed about McJew Stern's ultimate goal of making it a 23 year age limit so they could open up their own World Cup of Basketball and stack their fat fckin accounts... he's pushing for this shit with the IOC very hard according to sources... I'm very pissed and I honestly don't think the players will not stand for it, who is he or the IOC to tell anyone they cant represent their country because they fall out of the age criteria.... this shit will never fly but it's Stern's fckin dream and almost every NBA owners as well... I would however LOVE to see a World Cup of Basketball every few years or so like the Football world cup |
55-51 at the half... I haven't seen KD and Chandler play yet in the 2nd quarter. |

Holy nuts shots! :lawl: |

If they have a World Cup of Basketball, they will certainly pull out the veteran NBA pros from the Olympics. I'd rather have the Olympics. Aside from soccer, a worldwide competition for team sports seems to be more prestigious in the Olympics. Plus, the off court antics are more entertaining. |

That's a horrible trade for Lakers, swapping out Bynum AND Gasol in return for D12 and Al Harrington? :fuckthatshit: ... I'd rather keep the 2 reliable bigs and see how they gel with Nash than get whiny ass Dwight and useless Al ... Dwight should be exchanged with Bynum and spare change rather than Pau, he's underrated and more valuable to the team then you think. |
Won't happen. |
terrible deal for the lakers.... and lol, i guess harden doesn't feel as bad now :lol |
A source with direct knowledge of the talks told ESPN.com's Marc Stein the Lakers will receive Howard, the Denver Nuggets will acquire Andre Iguodala, the 76ers will receive Andrew Bynum and Jason Richardson, and the Magic will get Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic and one protected future first-round pick from each of the other three teams. In addition, the Magic will be getting other pieces, including 76ers No. 1 draft pick Moe Harkless, a source told Stein. Trade call made to league offices for tomorrow morning. Seems like Pau is staying put. For now |
