The whole team was bad but he let in 3 goals on 7 shots in the first.

Razor Ramon HG 10-01-2009 10:08 PM

Luongo collapsed in my opinion.

I would say the entire team did in the first period.
But big salary captain couldn't bail them out. Those goals weren't the hardest shots to save for Lu's caliber.

Tim Budong 10-01-2009 10:29 PM

if i was home watching, then yes BURROWS IS A FUCKING MONSTER!!! YEAAAAA

CRS 10-01-2009 10:29 PM

It's alright guys....

Luongo is a slow starter and it is only the first game. We were terrible in the first period but we showed a tremendous upside on the later 2 periods. We just need to make a few tweaks and we'll be good to go.

Tim Budong 10-01-2009 10:32 PM

of course
the whining of bad calls and such, first game, let it go
everyone saw, the nucks looked like a buncha pegs on the ice during the PK

the player who impressed me the most tonight, MASON RAYMOND

and kipper is a WALL early in the season, wait till he plays more games

Raymond is going to have a hell of a year

omg i hate the flames so much

punkwax 10-02-2009 07:26 AM

We shat the bed in the first, and clearly outplayed them in the 3rd. Bottom line is Kipper outplayed Luongo.

Soundy 10-02-2009 07:59 AM

And you just know Louie is PISSED about that!

silk 10-02-2009 08:00 AM

there was a moment showed kipper's disturbing trend..
his save % dropped every year

murd0c 10-02-2009 08:22 AM

Wow markov gone for 3-4 months with a torn tendon.

d1 10-02-2009 08:35 AM

To the people who picked markov high in fantasy leagues: PWNED.

Most likely they're gonna. With the high potential this team wields entering the season, you know they're gonna get chewed out for sure for that loose 1st half.

Anyways, I'm still banking on good regular season success. Other than minor changes to our bottom lines, we're still pretty much the same team who edged out the Flames to win NW. However, it just can't be dismissed though that the Flames just got that much better this season with the tweakings they did on their top lines.

SumAznGuy 10-02-2009 08:46 AM

The biggest thing with the Lamers is that they got rid of a useless coach and replaced him with someone how actually practices things during practice. You can see their powerplay was a lot better, and they played more like a team when you compare them to last year's team.

Mike Keanan is such a cancer where ever he goes. Luckily for us, he went to Florida, I guess.

As for the Nucks, this is the first game this season for them to play with the current lineup. A few guys like Ripyen did play to what we expected from them based on last year's performance, but this is only game 1 of 82 so they definately have time to get better. I did like Samulson's goal, and Shirokov looked a little small at times but showed his skills too.

I am impressed with this Canucks team this year.

I wish Canucks jerseys were affordable. The ones that are affordable are so replica-like.

When the Flames went to the Cup final, all season ticket holders were given free jerseys, so I think that's why we see the shit of red.

But ya, long season ahead of us. Calgary is a Brent Suter coached team, they are going to be good. My cousin has the Canucks finishing high in the west, but the Flames finishing higher. THey are scary on defence. With that being said, I'm happy with the Canucks, they will be fine, it's a long season.

That 3rd period was ownage, at one point shots were 11-1. So we'll be alright.

Just had to add that CBC is a complete joke!
The eastern game got Jim Hughson, and we get stuck with Mark no expression Lee and Kevin (I'll recite what happended in the reply and that's my colour analysis) Weekes..BS

MR_BIGGS 10-02-2009 09:02 AM

Markov out 3-4 months with torn tendon similar to Kevin Bieska's injury last year.

I hope so, traditionally we play pretty terrible against COL.

MR_BIGGS 10-02-2009 09:04 AM

Anyone watching the Florida Chicago game on TSN right now...man Pierre McGuire is awesome!
