Imagine a secret service agent diving in front of a bullet for the president.

I'd do that shit for the Canucks. Infect me with swine flu already if it meant all the Canucks were healthy for the rest of the season.

Harvey Specter 11-04-2009 04:16 AM

So someone explain to me how the NHL is going to find a owner or ownership group that will keep the Coyotes in Phoenix with the attendance numbers below;

Attendance: 5,855 (33.5% full) - Nov 2nd
Attendance: 6,495 (37.1% full) - Oct 31st
Attendance: 7,968 (45.5% full) - Oct 24th

On a side note it looks like the Islanders are in big trouble as well, they're averaging below 10,000 per game. Even Tampa, Nashville and Miami are filling more seats.

LOL @ THE LEAFS.

How do you know it's autumn in Toronto ?

The Leafs are falling.

What's the difference between the Toronto Maple Leafs and a triangle?

A triangle has 3 points.

Did you hear Toronto is getting a new area code?

048

How do you keep the Leafs off your front lawn?

Put a net on it.

What does Mike Komisarek and Timmins , Ontario have in common?

They are both Minus 25 come Christmas.

What do the Leafs and a TV evangelist have in common?

They each have the ability to make 20,000 people stand up and yell "Jesus Christ!"

Where would you find the Red Light District in Toronto ?

Behind the Leafs net.

What do Maple Leaf players have in common with Abe Lincoln?

They can't finish a play.

How are Maple Leaf general managers like beachcombers?

They make their living trying to salvage washed up junk.

What do you call a Toronto Maple Leaf with a Stanley Cup ring?

A thief.

Why didn't Hamilton get a hockey team?

If Hamilton got an NHL team Toronto would want one too.

What do the Toronto Maple Leafs and possums have in common?

Both play dead at home and get killed on the road.

What do you call a Maple Leafs success in 2009?

An overtime loss.

Why are the Maple Leafs like a bad bank?

No checking, no savings, and definitely no interest.

What's 2 feet wide, 30 feet long and sleeps 23 people?

The Leaf's bench.

What do the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Toronto Raptors have in common?

None of them can play hockey.

What's the difference between the Leafs and a guy who promised his wife to quit drinking for 8 months?

The guy can look forward to a draft next summer.

i thought was going to be another boring game last nite

kinda fell asleep for 5 mins during 2nd period... and when ranger scored on pp,, i thought we are done ... LOL

good 3rd period !!! loved it

hotjoint 11-04-2009 07:59 AM

great game last night. Man Sammuelson is awesome. I hope we can lock him up longterm after his contract is over. He seems to always score a goal every game or every other game

Noir 11-04-2009 08:17 AM

Anyone who mentions "Shutout" before a game is over is going to get an automatic FAIL button.

It's the code on the ice, it should be a code in here.

According to the stats on CDC, Samuelsson is:
#3 in team points (14 in 16 games, behind Kes with 16 and Hank with 17)
#1 in goals with 8
#3 in plus/minus (+2, behind Mitchell with +3 and Ehrhoff at +4, which gives him the best +/- for forwards)
#1 in PPG at 4 (half-dozen others are tied for second at 2 - also tied with a dozen others for 2nd in the league)
#1 in GWG with 2 (tied with Raymond)
#1 in shots at 54 (Raymond #2 with 44)

Yeah... pretty nice FA pickup there, I'd say. Gillis!

He's a good FA pickup but he isn't a very long term solution here. His contract is for another two years after this one and he will be 35 at that point, which is getting rather old for forwards.

Anyone 35 and over should be signed to no more than one or two year contracts. Gillis isn't retarded. That's why Sundin, Demitra, etc weren't offered more than one or two years.

The guy we REALLY need to lock down long term is Ryan Kesler. Then Mitchell. Mitchell is invaluable to this team. I'd like to have Ryan Johnson here too but he isn't getting any younger either.

yup, he's a perfect for the nucks. He shoots every chance he gets which is resulting in alot of goals. I'm going to say that he will have a career season with the nucks

yeah thats true but I hope he retires with the nucks. We can get some good production from him as long as he's healthy

MR_BIGGS 11-04-2009 09:55 AM

Heard some guy on the radio, prob Troy from White Rock saying how Gillis phoned Ohlund and said, you owe me. I let Tampa talk to you before your contract was up, and so now I need you to just level Kessel in his debut. lol...:haha::haha:

lol damn. When the incident happened and I saw so many guys on the ice, first thought I had was the "Bertuzzi incident" where he jumped the bench and got 10 game suspension.

I thought half the team jumped the bench or something. I can't imagine if half the team got a few game suspension... :lol

Vancouver Canuck defenceman Shane O'Brien has received a one-game suspension for spearing New York forward Sean Avery while both players stood at the end of their benches during a third-period melee Tuesday night.

O'Brien will sit out Thursday night's game in Minnesota against the Wild.

The league also suspended Rangers forward Dane Byers for one game and fined New York coach John Tortorella $10,000. Byers was assessed an instigator penalty at 18:50 of the third period Tuesday night in a fight with Vancouver winger Tanner Glass. A player identified as the instigator in a fight during the final five minutes of regulation time receives an automatic one-game suspension.

O'Brien has been taking some really stupid penalties/making some really bad judgment calls. I wouldn't mind having Rome in the line up. At least he plays it safe.

Hondaracer 11-04-2009 06:09 PM

one game was worth that lol

spoon.ek9 11-04-2009 06:47 PM
