The refs fucked up in this game. They made a mistake that cost Dallas the game. Grossman cleared the puck over the glass when he was pressured from Iginla. However, Grossman was not in the defensive zone, where this would have been a penelty.

So no one has really mentioned it on this thread. There has been much buzz in all the news mediums here in Vancouver about the Calgary Flames and there farm team getting the H1N1 flu shots along with their families and upper management of this organization. It is now being reported that some players on both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Raptors have also had the vaccination.

So clearly they have gotten their shots before some first priority people (i.e. pregnant women, elderly etc.)

What do you guys think about this?

jigga250 11-04-2009 07:35 PM

refs gift wrap it for the flamers

what a bold prediction, considering he has over 1/3 of his career high 23 goals, after only a fifth of the season:rofl:

Money is power
I wouldn't be surprised if the NHL actually promoted or had a hand in this behind closed doors. Who would want their on ice product (stars) being out of action due to a silly flu

One of the senior members of the Albertan whatever that handles the flu shots got fired though:haha:

i think this is fucking hilarious hahah. it's quite obvious they jumped the queue to get the shots and they still tried to play it down. apparently the abbotsford heat got their shots ahead of the general public too. i've heard that someone on the flames' healthcare team has been fired over the incident.

what probably happened is they panicked seeing how the flu was affecting the oilers and paid to make things happen. someone had to take the fall and obviously it's not going to be owners/gm's.

i'd gladly give up my flu shot for the canucks

Ya I have to agree.. Money rules. The optics of it does not look good, but if I was a hockey player in the NHL and have children and had access to the shot, I wouldn't care how it looked to others if it meant I could get the shots for my kids and so on.

Paul Maurice the first coach to be fired in the NHL? I think so.....

Thats not the issue though, there is a limited amount of shots and those most likely to die from it are suppose to be taken care of first.

O'Brien has often taken stupid penalties, not just lately!

Personally, I think it would be funny if the team itself imposed a fine on a player if you took a stupid penalty. Tripping a guy while he's on a breakaway is ok, but a retaliation-type penalty - fine! :D

Good, the world series are over; tomorrow's game should be on Sportsnet again.

Can't verify, but since there will be no game 7 MLB world series, the game will be on both city and SN. The same feed? I'm not sure..
