No energy tonight. Shitty PP. Schneider played great.

MG1 11-06-2009 07:00 PM

Oh well............. Lions game!

LsquareD 11-06-2009 07:04 PM

Poor Schnieder. He deserved a win.

Soundy 11-06-2009 07:05 PM

Anyone catch the 3 Stars?

Not really racist! 11-06-2009 07:07 PM

1. Cory

he played great and even tho they lost he sould be fricken proud. Best game as a Canuck if I can remember correctly.

Soundy 11-06-2009 07:22 PM

That was his first NHL start, wasn't it? Pretty good performance, too bad the rest of the team was too pooped.

First of the season, but not first of his career. He played a handful of games last year when Luongo went down and had 2 wins.

Can't really talk shit about the goaltending tonight. Cory was amazing, the Canucks not so much.

spoon.ek9 11-06-2009 08:00 PM

^ x2

too little too late. and yes, cory did deserve a better team than the one that played in front of him tonight.

TRD Rs200 11-06-2009 08:01 PM

45 saves on 47 shots..... not that bad

Harvey Specter 11-06-2009 10:15 PM

The thing that really pisses me off about the Canucks on the road is that they'll slack off for most of the game and decide to go all buck wild with like 5 minutes left in the game. Sure you might get lucky some nights and win or tie game by giving some effort in the last few minutes of the game but most nights you get a result like tonight. Just that little effort earlier in the game tonight and I think we could have picked up a point.

Serious question:

Is there a rule in the NHL rulebook that prevents players from wearing another's jersey? :)

68style 11-06-2009 10:54 PM

^
It doesn't explicitly say it, but the latter half of this rule would encompass what you're talking about because it specifically says that person's surname:

"Rule 9.2 Numbers - Each player and each goalkeeper listed in the line-up of each team shall wear an individual identifying number at least ten inches (10'') high on the back of his sweater. Sweater numbers such as 00, ½ (fractions), .05 (decimals), 101 (three digit) are not permitted. In addition, each player and goalkeeper shall wear his surname in full, in block letters three inches (3'') high, across the back of his sweater at shoulder height."

yes
he is worth signing. Foopa is scary..point per game on one ankle...imagine healthy!

Damn, that brings back nightmares of the year Yzerman, on one knee, single handedly destroyed Canucks in the playoffs. Well... Maybe it was Lidstrom's long shot goal that single handedly did it.

lol, that would apply to Wellwood if he did more of those last second coast to coast sprints.

pure.life 11-07-2009 06:44 AM

It seems like wellwood is never gonna score again. but hopefully when he does, he will go on a rampage scoring streak.

At least last year he was getting some CHANCES... this year I can't even remember him being in a position to score! Of course it doesn't help when you have goons for linemates... last year he played a lot of power play with the Sedins when he was getting his goals...

He contributes more than just that though.

If people recall correctly. When we had that PP late in the 3rd period, which also evolved into a 2man PP, Wellwood won each and every face off within that crucial time period.

Too bad the Dallas PK were able to keep the play on the outside and along the point. I think Edler and Hank burned almost a minute (and most of the 2man PP) just passing to each other.

wow...people quickly forget what linemates Wellwood had last year, and who he's been stuck with most of this year with all the injuries. When Wellwood is back on a line with Bernier and Raymond (or better) his point production should go up.

while that may be true, wellwood still has to earn that spot on a better line. AV isn't just going to plop him in there and hope for the best. unfortunate for wellwood, but its reality.

Kessel gets his first goal as a Leaf and Detroit down 2 at the 1st intermission..

Tim Budong 11-07-2009 04:39 PM

its now 3-0 laffs
and no
wellwood has a BIG upper hand earning that 3rd line spot due to his..."cheating faceoff percentage" plus welwood has those playmakin hands
he makes that nice nifty pass from teh high slot to the crease

Gh0stRider 11-07-2009 05:43 PM
