i love detroit's puck possession style of play. it always seems like its so hard to defend against them. passes are always tape-to-tape and the level of confidence they have as a team and as an organization is excellent. they also don't get down on themselves when they get scored on, they instead do everything in their power to change the game in their favour. sigh... let's hope the canucks can turn pull out a win tonight! go nucks!

dump-ins suck. carry it in, shoot shoot shoot, then fucking crash the net to get that rebound and shovel it in. we need more people in front of the net. how many times has a goalie let a rebound out and there's no one by the net to pounce on puck?

gah. it's frustrating to watch them, home team and all.

WHEN IN DOUBT, SHOOT THE PUCK AND GOOD THINGS WILL HAPPEN !!!!!!!!!!

shoot the puck at the net anyway. i mean, these guys are getting paid how much and what percentage of the blueliners have a majority of their shots actually be on net?

all i hear is edler's shots going wide. same with bieksa. mitchell... it can't be that hard to put it on net, right? :p

When you shoot the puck as hard as they do you give up control over your shot. Besides pucks bouncing off end boards can give good chances too

They're trying. But it's not like they a have sizeable forward like Holmstrom or Byfuglien type of player that can park it in front of the net that yields noticeable success.

With the departure of Pyatt, the best it's gonna get is D. Sedin, Burrows, or Bernier (who actually got smaller this year; but at least he's faster now)

CBC just showed a clip of PJ meeting Naslund and Forsberg in Sweden. Not sure why the PJ guy is in Sweden but something to do with 120 days?

spoon.ek9 11-14-2009 03:10 PM

calgary @ toronto right now. flames have a surprisingly bad lifetime record playing in toronto O_o

ienhz 11-14-2009 03:23 PM

LOL @ leafs

spoon.ek9 11-14-2009 04:03 PM

3-1 calgary after the 1st period; gustovson (no idea how to spell it) has been yanked already.

discuss

2 goals in 16 seconds..lol

spoon.ek9 11-14-2009 04:48 PM

the leafs are actually outplaying calgary badly right now. shots were like 25-10 and leafs are spending a huge amount of time attacking.

you can't really be a canucks fan if you don't want the flames to lose, now can you?

seakrait 11-14-2009 04:58 PM

^^^ that and i'm a closet leafs fan. don't hate me. :p

so, any predictions for tonight's game against colorado? or is that too dangerous what with the canucks being, how many points behind the avalanche now?

spoon.ek9 11-14-2009 05:04 PM

i think we're due for a win, 3 losses shouldn't sit too well with the boys. especially with the effort put in at detroit and getting nothing out of it.

winson604 11-14-2009 05:04 PM

^^

7 points behind

Canucks 10-10
Avs 12-4-3

spoon.ek9 11-14-2009 05:16 PM

shooting the puck on net is actually quite hard when you under panic/pressure. But i agree with you, we are talking about PRO now, they gotta hit the net !!!

Gh0stRider 11-14-2009 05:46 PM
