People who can't make the differentiation between a dirty player and a physical player should stick to Hello Kitty Adventureland.

There's dirty like Steve Downy or Marty McSorley and there's just physical like Scott Stevens, Mike Richards or Kronwall;

Ovechkin might not be a dirty player but he takes runs at other players that most players won't think of doing because they're afraid they might get suspended. There is a double standard.

People try and get at Ovechkin all the time too. I think he shouldn't get too many games..Why take your most exciting player out of the game.

I can't see 5-10 games like they said on the radio today. That's nuts. Maybe a game, two at the max.

I'm not saying Ovechkin's a dirty player but if a grinder or a checker pulls off even 2 or 3 of these, he'd probably be immediately labeled a dirty player.

Even Don Cherry said on coaches corner not too long ago that someone's going get Ovechkin soon or later for his cheap plays

Of course there is a double standard. The Ovies of the world fill seats, not the Cookes or Laraques. The NBA is the perfect example. A bench player could block a Kobe Bryant and still get called for a foul.

Ovechkin also plays the game at a level 15-20% higher/harder than your average NHLer

As much as I love Team Canada, I hope Ovechkin will make it to the olympics (thats if he is injured).

In fact very true, the NHL is struggling to stay alive in some markets, and Ovie goin into those buildings bring in crowds. Ovechkin is more than Hockey to the NHL, he is a personality. His love for attention drives him to play harder EVERY NIGHT

I love Ovechkin, the ticket to see him play would be just as high, if not higher than sidney crosby. Judging whos better is also a double standard, but one thing for sure is Ovechkin will bring you off your seats just like Pavel Bure many moons ago, xept Ovechkin does it with ATTITUDE and CHARISMA the league has not seen before since The Rocket or even Guy Lafluer.

I was right a few years ago when i told my buddy, Ovie is gonna suffer with a career altering injury if he plays this hard. Its not a bad thing to play this hard, but Bure, would play pretty damn hard, and eventually a slewfoot caught him and basically destroyed his knees for the rest of his career. Ovechkin is STONE, but signs of overworking the body is starting to show.

I really do hope ovie will play in Vancouver, as I'm goin to that game...and no...I will not sell even if he does not play(knock on wood)

Knee on Knees tho, are very...well..injuries can be devestating or it could be a charlie horse. Lets hope for teh latter

I hope he's alright. I've had a knee injury myself, and the pain disabled me for weeks.
