I agree Don Cherry is an idiot. CBC needs to change a lot of things as well. The Leafs are going to be bad for a long time. Ottawa and the Habs ain't no cup of tea either. I understand the whole Hockey Night in Canada thing. But they always have such shitty games in the 4pm slot. Noone wants to watch those here in the west.

I think TSN needs to step up and do non-Canadian Saturday night games. The Philly vs Pens games, New York vs Boston etc etc if those are available on Saturdays. Even any game Ovie or Crosby are playing in. Wouldn't they get better numbers outside of Toronto??

The only reason I watch CBC for the 4pm game is to watch satellite hotstove.

Canadian content comes into play. Don't know what the ratio is, but that would be a major reason.

A try-out but I guess that's still good news.

haha compared to having to live on his brothers couch in Corpus Christi last year, a try out is an improvement.

I saw somewhere he's only day-to-day so he should be back as soon right when his suspension is over

Hondaracer 12-01-2009 04:02 PM

on the radio they were saying he probably wouldnt have been playing anyways

I thought that suspensions don't kick in until you can actually play.

I'm not sure about that part of the rule, it would make sense though, but how would they determine whether he can play or not, I mean like, since it's not a serious injury, he can just say he's good to go for the next 2 games and let the suspension run out right?

this is where the rule is sorta skewed
Ovechkin being day to day. means he can still "play" as he is not put on the IR list, thus i believe suspension can start the next game.

this makes all the sense in the world, the NHL can give him a "suspension" while he's hurt to "show" the very smart media they are handing ovie the book..

bullshit on this
correct me if im wrong tho, i havent really read much on this matter today, been busy

^ That were my thoughts exacly when I heard it was only a 2 game suspension

Tim Budong 12-01-2009 07:03 PM

So Gustuvvson leaves teh game with an elevated heartrate...does he have the same condition that cherpanov(SP?) had

bigassbooger 12-01-2009 07:33 PM

If he did than he would just drop dead.... wouldnt he?

^not funny.

I think Gustavsson had a similar problem during the pre-season and they made it sound like it was nothing serious. Its happening again 3 months into the season.

Hope its nothing serious and he can continue backstopping pucks without anymore worries.

Tim Budong 12-01-2009 07:43 PM

the leafs fail for not giving this problem and addressing the issue before preseason camp
im sure this is something u must release to the media for fuck sakes
its a players life man

Don Cherry quotes the "THE MOTHER OF ALL ELBOWS"

In 2010, I think it's gonna come down to Brodeur, Luongo, and Fleury. Who's gonna be the starter?

The coaching staff is here to win gold first, and not satisfy the hometown fans. Therefore, I think Brodeur's gonna start.

I doubt he was thinking at all, just acting purely based on emotions. I feel bad for the dude, if you saw the video of him on the bench he looked really shitty. I heard he had to be convinced to come out of the dressing room and is pretty traumatized by the whole thing. Glad Vokoun isn't seriously injured.

He has the same condition Mario Lemieux had and I think he's already had a heart surgery like Mario had.

Bure was going to be suspended
but Brian Burke, who was then the Vice President of the NHL overturned the ruling and slapped him with a $500 fine

The canucks went on to win the series in 5, beat the leafs and then lost to the Rangers

what a playoff...sigh.....:(
