I'm starting to think Cloutier has some serious mental problems. I mean, if what we're hearing is true and he's broke and living on a couch, you'd think he wouldn't fuck up his one shot to get back to playing even if it is in the minors.

Sweet free trial for NHL! They had it last month, and it was awesome watching the Caps and Pens games.

fobulaus 12-07-2009 09:54 PM

It's a package. I think it's $189, google "NHL centre ice".

Bad news for the Canadian Jr team and Canucks, Hodgson's back injury still hasn't gotten much better. Hopefully this doesn't turn into a Steve Sullivan situation where a back injury kept him out 2 years, back injuries can be trouble. There have been rumblings that some members of Hodgson's camp are pretty upset at the Canucks' coaching staff for pushing him so hard during training camp when he already came into camp injured.

Quote:

Cody Hodgson will not be attending Canada's World Junior Camp.

The Markham, Ontario native is still dealing with a back injury suffered while training last summer. He hasn't played since being sent back to junior by the Vancouver Canucks in September.

Hodgson was named to the camp roster last week, and he had hoped his condition would improve enough to allow him to attend, but it has not.

The 19-year-old centre informed Hockey Canada Monday that he is unable to play and, although Hodgson will not be attending the camp that begins on Saturday, there are no plans to add another player to replace him.

Just to be clear, this Hodgson news means he will NOT play in the WJC. No one is sure when he will play again as his back is still an issue.

New York Islanders defenceman Brendan Witt was hit by a car in Philadelphia on Tuesday, according to Newsday. But Witt reportedly picked himself up off the road and, after a few profanities, assured everyone he was all right before continuing on his way, prompting one witness to say, "it was like seeing Clint Eastwood, but in hockey."

Witt was crossing Arch Street to get a cup of coffee when a gold Yukon truck made an illegal turn and hit the 34-year-old. Newsday says Witt tried to jump on the hood of the vehicle before being thrown to the ground as he was struck.

"I'm okay," Witt told the crowd as he dusted himself off, according to Newsday. "I've got to go play some hockey. I'm a hockey player. I'm okay. No big deal."

The onlooker was impressed.

"Boy that guy is tough," he said.

The 6'2, 219-pound blueliner downplayed the incident.

"I just got lucky," said Witt, who oddly enough had declined an offer for a drive to Wachovia Center from the team's medical staff just prior to the accident. "Fortunately nothing bad happened. I'm just a little sore."

The Humboldt, Saskatchewan native chose not to call police or get medical care, and was at the Isles' morning skate just a few hours later. He will play tonight against the Flyers.

Witt has two goals, one assist and 35 penalty minutes in 26 games for the Isles this season, and has no plans to star in any action films in the immediate future.
some awesome comments on TSN about it

The fans are getting a little desperate for a win here, jeez
The funny thing is, the driver of the yukon was taken to the hospital with severe whiplash! Lol
Someone get that driver some glasses. If we're gonna get out of this losing streak we should be going for Tavares!
Oddly enough it goes to show you don't need all that hockey equipment to take a hit. Had he had his equipment on the Yukon may have been totaled.
When Chuck Norris goes to bed at night he checks his closet for Brendan Witt.
ha, another illegal hit by Philly.
Good to hear he is okay. I wonder what's left of the Yukon.
'Tried to jump onto the hood?' Great! Now Campbell's gonna suspend him for leaving his feet...

Emery to have surgery for abdominal tear; will miss six weeks

That won't help the Flyers at all!

the nucks do own his rights, but if this is affected long term, then he can file that lawsuit. i'll be honest tho, i wanted to see him play, but i agree, he should rest it up
he played the most games for any pro in hockey last year..something like 120ish games

40more than usual...

pure.life 12-08-2009 03:17 PM

Prediction: 3-2 Canucks win

Coho's the one who said he was 100% fine. Eveyone knows he wanted to make the roster. It's his consequence to bear if he misrepresented himself to the training staff to avoid being turned away from camp.
