i like the canucks last night in different aspects but I think Luongo still not up to his game yet, there were quite a few chances of rebound and had some scary moments.
Overall, i think the team looked great last night and hopefully they will WIN on saturday against MIN and continue winning to break the 2 games winning streak.

punkwax 12-11-2009 08:20 AM

The Canucks looked great at times, but I still saw a lot of mistakes being made. You're right; Luongo was a bit shaky. I was nervous the Canucks were going to let them back in it, and it's not like Daniel's goals were highlight reel material.

spoon.ek9 12-11-2009 08:27 AM

^ like they said, probably the ugliest hat trick we've ever seen but a hat trick none the less! it just goes to show, if everyone contributes, luongo doesn't have to be a god for us to win.

Gumby 12-11-2009 08:29 AM

Wow, hat-tricks in 3 consecutive Canuck games. Has to be a record, no?

spoon.ek9 12-11-2009 08:31 AM

too bad 2/3 were for the opposing team :lol

lol.. no one throw a hat until the goal was announced afterward, it was pretty funny to see D Sedin's smile... hahaha.. man, i seriously thought Canucks fan would be nuts throwing those hats, but maybe im wrong

spoon.ek9 12-11-2009 09:19 AM

the crowd didn't realise it was a hat trick. initially the 2nd goal was credited to henrik instead of daniel. the delayed throwing of hats was because of the late announcement of the hat trick.

MR_BIGGS 12-11-2009 10:00 AM

It takes a while for the hats to reach the ice. A hat from the balcony took about about 3-4 throws to get onto the ice. It was fun to watch. Anyone else find the Woooooooooooo after a goal annoying>??

JKam 12-11-2009 10:01 AM

Yes the woooing is really annoying. They did it after the no goal was announced and after the game was won I think.

hotjoint 12-11-2009 10:06 AM

great game last night

spoon.ek9 12-11-2009 10:39 AM

i don't think the woooing will last long. it's already kinda stupid.

Greenstoner 12-11-2009 10:41 AM

i was at villa casino last night when watching the game, whats this WOOOING thing you guys talking about ?

Hondaracer 12-11-2009 10:41 AM

all the "wooing" was coming from the Canadian zone :/

and yea i didnt have any idea it was a hat trick until my buddy txt me "NHL record, first hat trick without a single hat thrown" lol

they gave it to henrik completely even on the video review it looked like henriks

What is the name of the song they play when the nux score?

winson604 12-11-2009 11:40 AM

On other news Kesler and Mitchell mix it up in practice.

"VANCOUVER — Just because you win a game one night doesn't mean you're happy the next day.

Jim Jamieson calls from GM Place to report that Canucks practice, which is still going on, was marred by an altercation involving assistant captains Willie Mitchell and Ryan Kesler.

Jamieson doesn't know what precipitated the feud, which found the Canucks' leaders nearly at blows during a five-on-five situation, and having to be separated by their teammates.

"There were lots of F-bombs flying around," says Jamieson.

Ice Edge takes step toward buying Coyotes from NHL

PHOENIX (AP)—The Ice Edge Holdings investment group signed a letter of intent to purchase the financially floundering Phoenix Coyotes from the NHL with a long-term commitment to keep the team in Arizona.

The league and Ice Edge announced the agreement in brief statements on Friday.

NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly said the league pledged to work closely with Ice Edge “to bring the sale to conclusion as expeditiously as possible.”

Ice Edge chief executive officer Anthony LeBlanc said “Ice Edge has committed to keep the Coyotes in Glendale for the remaining term of the original lease.”

There are 26 years left on the Coyotes’ lease to play at Jobing.com Arena, which was built for the team by the city of Glendale.

In an e-mail exchange with The Associated Press, LeBlanc said there would be no “out clause” that would allow Ice Edge to break the lease.

“We believe in this team and the demographics of the Valley,” he said, a reference to the sprawling Phoenix metropolitan area.

The league bought the team in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for about $140 million after two other potential bidders, including Ice Edge, withdrew, largely because they could not reach an agreement on a reworked stadium lease with the city of Glendale.

The Ice Edge deal is expected to approach $150 million, the amount it had said the group would be willing to spend.

The NHL board of governors could act on the ownership proposal at its meeting next week.

Ice Edge is a group of American and Canadian investors with five majority owners—LeBlanc, Daryl Jones, John Breslow, Keith McCullough and Todd Jordan.

LeBlanc is a former executive at Research in Motion, the Blackberry manufacturer founded by Canadian Jim Balsillie. Balsillie mounted a spirited, persistent bid to buy the Coyotes in bankruptcy court and move the team to Hamilton, Ontario.

Breslow is a Las Vegas-based businessman and former Nebraska state auditor who owned 3 percent of the Coyotes when the team went into bankruptcy protection.

The top line was missing 1.5 players after the 4th game - until recently!
