More than decent. Some of the saves he made during the game were pretty good. He is, afterall, a backup goalie.

Anyway...........

orange7 03-10-2010 09:08 PM

finally the Canucks will be playing back at home. The fans will energize them to play at full.

tonyvu 03-10-2010 09:10 PM

great game to a disappointing end.

Bring it home boys

spoon.ek9 03-10-2010 09:15 PM

orange7 03-10-2010 09:23 PM

canucks played really well for a back-to-back road game.

couldn't believe they still had gas left after making a comeback yesterday.

VANCOUVER -- Vancouver Canucks hockey stars Daniel and Henrik Sedin have donated $1.5 million to help build a new BC Children's Hospital.

The Swedish twins, who've played for the NHL club for a decade, made their gift to support the hospital's Campaign for BC Children and specifically to the intensive care unit and diagnostics and imaging area in the new hospital.

In a statement issued through the hospital foundation, the brothers said they and their families feel very fortunate to live and work in Vancouver and want to give something back that would benefit children and families across the province.

The BC Children's Hospital Foundation says its $200-million campaign passed the $100-million mark in December.

Campaign chairman Don Lindsay says the foundation is delighted with the gift and noted the Sedins have supported the children's hospital for many years through visits and appearances in TV fund-raising ads.

BC Children's Hospital is the province's only full-service, acute-care facility for kids, serving a million children in B.C. and the Yukon, with 72,000 patients treated last year.

They have even more of my respect.

Sucks that we didn't get the 2nd point but I'm glad we picked up a point tonight seeing how it was a back to back game and the last game on the road trip.

spoon.ek9 03-10-2010 09:41 PM

^ yup. raycroft played a pretty good game except for the shootout of course. glad we got one point.

^^^

That's amazing, I remember reading during the Haiti crisis that an entire NBA team donated $10,000 to the relief effort... $10k... their freaking pretzel profits on game night are probably $10k... and you got the Sedins donating $1.5 mill to a hospital in their hometown... way to show them how it's done!!

Where did you get the $10k from? I remember reading that the NBA donated 1 million.

Expresso 03-10-2010 09:55 PM

PuckDaddy's prediction for the road trip was 8-4-2, not far off at all!

To be fair, Bryzgalov let in just as many (well, 1 less because of the winning goal), so you can't blame Raycroft for playing bad.

I think Raycroft did an admirable job for a backup goalie. He's probably the best backup goalie the Canucks have had in a long time. He definitely had moments tonight where he kept the Canucks in the game. I'll chalk this up to bad luck (and a little bit of blame with Raymond settling into a slump since he hasn't played great as of late)

Yeah, it was the NHL that donated 100k when every other league donated at least 1 million :(

I hope we can afford him next season without too much sacrifice. He's been an awesome backup all year.

He's probably going to be asking for a raise in the $800-$1M range I think. But its time for Schneider to become a NHL regular and play back up. If he is stuck in the AHL next year again, his trade value will be bag of pucks.

Unless Schneider gets traded in the off season he'll be the backup the next year. They have to play him at the NHL level to try and increase his value.

fliptuner 03-11-2010 09:19 AM

I guess it kind of sucks cause Raycroft is proven solid and should be good for the next 2-3 years, whereas Schneider is somewhat untested but has the potential - then there's the cost factor.
