I'm so happy Pyatt is gone, now everytime I'm out somewhere and people are talking about the Canucks I don't have to worry about some dumb fucking chick butting into the conversation with a "Ohh you guys talking about the Canucks? I love Pyatt!" statement to ruin the beautiful "man moment" taking place.

Harvey Specter 09-02-2009 10:37 PM

Pyatt was a nice guy off the ice the 2 times i met him and I feel bad about his gf but I think he's better off by leaving Vancouver. He didn't really fit in with the Canucks.

I'm actually totally satisfided with this contract; just thought I'd point that out :)

If he's not starting, I suspect he'd retire eliminating the cap hit. But there's also the buyout option of front loaded contracts. That would bring the cap hit down to 500K or so in yr 9 or 10.

i have nothing against the guy either -- but on the ice, he really was taylor 'pylon'. i still don't see what don cherry liked about him.

Hopefully with a change a scenery he'll be able to cope with the loss of his fiance better. :(

I am very happy to see this deal done!
As per MG's words, yes, the goaltender can still be VERY dominant past prime ie. Marty Broduer

One can argue, Luongo hasnt done shit, but to be very honest, those stats he pulled for us in net over the past 3 seasons says it all. Being a Vezina nominee says alot for a team

He is arguably the next in line after Broduer to man those pipes at the olympics, or even be no1 during 2010

This is a man who if he said he wanted 7-8mil, there will be a line of suitors waiting

Luongo is CLEARLY about winning.
The hawks series might have been the worst hockey he has played in 10seasons, but Luongo is STILL HUMAN

Most players, before they win, haven't done shit. What matters is what you're gonna do and what you're capable of doing going forward.

If ppl keep looking in the rear-view mirror, I guess that means Khabibulin's gonna take Edmonton to the finals this year cuz, you know, he's got a ring. I guess all those half-assed years in Chicago right after Tampa never existed either. And Chicago mgmt blew 10M on two goalies last yr cuz they were still mesmerized by what he did in 2004.

Judging by the times I saw him off the ice (many)... it's tragic his fiancee died, but I feel sorry for HER and HER family, not him, because he sure wasn't loyal to her by any stretch of the imagination and on top of that he was a terrible player for us. Hope he has fun in Phoenix, lots of wicked bars and clubs for him to philander at in Scottsdale and the girls are way hotter!

Unfortunately, that is pretty much true for all hockey players.

Melanie filed for divorce during the 2003 playoffs amid reports that Martin was having an affair with Genevieve Nault, the wife of Melanie's brother.[48] The incident added some fuel to the fire for hecklers during the playoffs.[49] The reports proved to be true, as Martin and Genevieve got married in June 2008.[50]

Going offtopic from players that are playas. Despite what Brodeur did, its nothing compared to the off-ice antics of Belfour

Quote:

On October 20, 2000, Belfour plead guilty to a misdeamenor charge in which Belfour was subdued by police after a woman he was with became frightened by an intoxicated Belfour in a Metro Dallas hotel room. While under arrest and being transported to the local division, he allegedly offered Dallas police officers one billion dollars for his release without charges.

Not really. Just a bunch of excessive speeding tickets in his pimped out H2.

7seven 09-03-2009 11:31 AM

haha how about when Peter Worrell got pulled over by the cops and kept insisting that he was Andres Lilja lol.

Quote:

NHL forward Peter Worrell is 6-foot-7 and black. Friend and former teammate Andreas Lilja is 6-foot-3 and Swedish. Police could tell the difference......

Driving an SUV owned by Lilja, Worrell was pulled over at 2 a.m. Dec. 6 in Pompano Beach for driving with an expired tag, according to an arrest report from the Broward County Sheriff's Office. Worrell repeatedly identified himself as Lilja, Deputy Lionel Davis wrote in his report.

"After asking the defendant several times his name, Worrell continued to deliberately falsify and obstruct my investigation," Davis wrote. The officer said he cleared up the misidentification when he found Worrell's passport in the SUV.
and the best was the Lilja didn't even know Worrell was driving his car haha
