Playfair is awesome.

I don't know about you guys but I'd love to play for a coach that shows that much emotion.

Same Playfair guy that coached the flames?

Tegra_Devil 03-28-2010 08:10 PM

calgary takes out either LA or CO for 8th.....ill keep hoping until there is no mathematical way possible...and if that doesnt happen i will accept 18 holes of golf

go flames go!

Harvey Specter 03-28-2010 09:48 PM

It's going to be tough for the Flames to capture the 8th spot but who knows, maybe they'll build something good from the win today.

Yes, that's their AHL affiliate team.

It's beyond tough... they would need an absolute miracle to get in.

They're four points back and have one more game played...

Tim Budong 03-28-2010 11:14 PM

Judging by how Colorado plays, The flames need to be on their Agame to make it in
one less game more or less doesnt matter at this point. the flames just need to WIN. as for the wings, they are in, they are not gonna drop the last 5 or 6 games to no one

Harvey Specter 03-28-2010 11:38 PM

Yup, Flames win and they have a chance BUT the Avs haven't gone on extended losing streaks this season so it's starting to look like an impossible task for the Flames. And the game the Flames lost vs the Wings a couple weeks ago imo ended their season, if they had won that game I think they would have had a real shot at making the playoffs.

Are you kidding me? It is ESPECIALLY at this point that game in hand is HUGE.

http://espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs/matchups

Calgary's remaining six games are against:
1.) Phoenix
2.) Colorado
3.) Chicago
4.) San Jose
5.) Minnesota
6.) Vancouver

Good luck winning the majority of games down the stretch.

Even if they somehow do win all their remaining games, they'll have 97 points.

Colorado's remaining seven games are against:
1.) Anaheim
2.) Calgary
3.) San Jose
4.) Vancouver
5.) Edmonton
6.) Chicago
7.) LA Kings

If Colorado wins four of those seven games, they'll have 97 points and 45 wins as well, but they have the tiebreaker against Calgary because so far they're 3-1 against them.

Realistically, even if Calgary wins four of their six remaining games, that's a pretty good feat... but that means Colorado would also have to only win two out of their seven games to beat them.

DuhDang 03-29-2010 12:32 AM

I hope Vancouver gets the chance to end calgarys playoff run

Lets hope so
regardless, the FLAMES need to WIN to succeed. Colorado is just as desperate anyways, they gotta fight to stay IN the playoffs with the flames looming.

btw...Rene Borque's goal was quite t3h win with that spin move
and Patrick Eaves shootout FAIL from the weekend

We would have to drop the ball totally to lose that 5pt lead.

Colorado hasn't been playing as well as they should. They look like the team they were suppose to be now coming into the final stretch. As for the nucks, yea most likely exhausted, theres more road games headin down the final 6or so games. thats gonna factor in to where thy finish as well

PinoyDrifta 03-29-2010 09:08 AM

i smell playoff hockey in the air...and quick question when does playoffs begin...???
