It would be a great test for the Canucks to play against a very strong playoff team and if we beat them, it would show the rest of the NHL and haters that the Canucks are true cup contenders this season. | I don't think the Canucks have to prove they are cup contenders, I think it's kind of a given with them staying in 3rd in the West for most of the season and the way the've played against top teams this year. I get what you are saying, but Canucks don't have to prove anything, by playing the Wings in the 1st round. You can be the best team in the league, and say the right things like bring on whoever, but in the back of players minds, they want to avoid the Wings, and play a LA or Avs or Coyotes. There goal has to be conference final. A first or second round exit for me is FAIL. Quote:

Not great news, but the sooner it's confirmed, the better. I'm sure the coaching staff have put a plan together already.
On a side note, the playoffs are nothing compared to the regular season. The team that is most prepared does well. I think Mike Gillis has what it takes to get the players up to snuff. The position of GM is not just about trading players. This guy is a bit of a genius. I think he's done a lot of stuff over the two seasons to help prepare this team. I think they will go far, come playoffs. | Finally an optimistic post by someone! So many people freaking out about Luongo's play and Canucks taking a first round exit.
Not having Mitchell in the lineup will hurt the Canucks big time! With him not in the lineup though, our Dmen seem to be so much quicker and the transition game is awesome. Raymond Kesler Grabner, they can do damage agaisnt slower dlines in the west. |
