Heard on 1040 that Mitchell is pretty much done and won't be back for playoffs - I think it was MacIntyre that said it, and he seems to be a reliable source. Apparently he hasn't even been working out with the team and playoffs start pdq. Shitty for us!

Gh0stRider 04-04-2010 08:23 AM

On the radio, they were suggesting olympic hangover or fatigue.

Would you sit him the rest of the season, so he's fresh for the playoffs or would you continue playing him? That was a poll question on the show. I didn't get to hear what the result was.

Not great news, but the sooner it's confirmed, the better. I'm sure the coaching staff have put a plan together already.

On a side note, the playoffs are nothing compared to the regular season. The team that is most prepared does well. I think Mike Gillis has what it takes to get the players up to snuff. The position of GM is not just about trading players. This guy is a bit of a genius. I think he's done a lot of stuff over the two seasons to help prepare this team. I think they will go far, come playoffs.

Sami Salo will be our number 1 D-man

Wow. The most of top 8 Western Conference teams playing tonight.

Sami Glass, or is it Tanner Salo, will most likely get injured. Can't count on him too much. Although, he's been playing injury free for a long time (by his standards). LOL.

Luongo has to get his shit together for the playoffs, so when our D-men fuck up, it's no big deal. Our offence has turned out to be our biggest defence this year. If we have decent goaltending, we will have nothing to worry about. Just hope first line stays healthy and keeps producing.

I'm so looking forward to the playoffs this year.

Go, Canucks, GO!!!

I don't think the Canucks have to prove they are cup contenders, I think it's kind of a given with them staying in 3rd in the West for most of the season and the way the've played against top teams this year. I get what you are saying, but Canucks don't have to prove anything, by playing the Wings in the 1st round. You can be the best team in the league, and say the right things like bring on whoever, but in the back of players minds, they want to avoid the Wings, and play a LA or Avs or Coyotes. There goal has to be conference final. A first or second round exit for me is FAIL.

Finally an optimistic post by someone! So many people freaking out about Luongo's play and Canucks taking a first round exit.

Not having Mitchell in the lineup will hurt the Canucks big time! With him not in the lineup though, our Dmen seem to be so much quicker and the transition game is awesome. Raymond Kesler Grabner, they can do damage agaisnt slower dlines in the west.

Hmm, crap... Red Wings lost to the Flyers in regulation today... looking more and more likely that we will play them in the first round.

InvisibleSoul 04-04-2010 11:29 AM

Those big head guys at the Ducks game were awesome.

Maybe now we can sign Mitchell for a discounted price.... Given his age too maybe we can sign him 4 yrs for under 2 mil cap hit

On a side note, we're going to have Samuelsson back in the lineup! Curious to see what AV does with the lines during playoffs..

Tim Budong 04-04-2010 01:07 PM

Bring on Dan Hamhuis please

I've had my disagreements with people here, but I'd love to catch an RS Canuck PPV game meet with you all some day.

Maybe if we go to the finals, I'll pitch this idea again. I know I owe the following individuals here a beer for past differences in opinion:

89blkcivic
Soundy
Hondaracer
