what do you guys think?

Good idea but we have a few d-men prospects that have a very bright future with the team. Evan Oberg, Yan Sauve, Taylor Ellington and Kevin Connauton are a few names. I predict Canucks in 6 btw!

Greenstoner 04-13-2010 09:33 AM

i dont want the sweep... too many days between the next round..

i remeber it was not fun at all during the gap between next round facing Chicago

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - "Nucks all the way" is how Kevin Dupont, columnist for the Boston Globe and a writer for the NBC sports website is describing his Stanley Cup prediction.

Despite favourites like the Capitals, Sharks and Blackhawks, Dupont says the Canucks have the most balanced team heading into the playoffs and that's why he's picking them to win it all. He has history on his side... in 2007 he said the Ducks would win the cup and they did. The following year he had the Red Wings taking home Lord Stanley's mug. Guess what? They did. Last year he had the Red Wings winning again. That prediction was just one game off as they lost in game seven of the finals.

He credits a balanced defensive core, the sharp shooting Sedins, Roberto Luongo as one of the league's best and what he calls the NHL's best number two centre in Ryan Kesler. Dupont believes the Stanley Cup will "disappear down Gastown before Henrik can hoist it."
I hope this guy is right.

I am so stoked for the playoffs right now. Sucks having no hockey to watch for 3 days. At least playoffs start tomorrow. :)

AzNightmare 04-13-2010 09:48 AM

^ :eek5x:
wow this guy's almost 3 for 3 in the last 3 years. Hope he's right about this one.

The only concern right now is Canucks' injured blueline...
I'm actually not that worried about Lu at the moment.

Derek_N84 04-13-2010 10:14 AM

Got my jeresey, cape, flags and fog horn ready haha. I'm so giddy I could wet my pants :D

I hope so too but our biggest hurdle is the Hawks if we do get to meet them; and even if we do get past them, do we go past them with enough steam and health to go all the way.

In fact, I worry more about the Hawks in our conference final than anyone on the east for a SCF final. (And yes, I've taken the Caps into account)

Wilson hints that Dion Phaneuf could be the Leafs next captain

What a joke...

MR_BIGGS 04-13-2010 10:41 AM

If the top 4 seeds win, does it mean Ovie vs Crosby in the second round?

Too early for that matchup!

Wash vs. Mon
NJ vs. Phi
Buf vs. Bos
Pit vs. Ott

I think the Blues team we played last year was tougher compared to the Kings but that been said the Kings are stacked with talent compared to the Blues but I think the inexperience will hurt the Kings and the Canucks should be able to take advantage.

CHICAGO chosen to win Stanley Cup

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=317894

Quote:

TORONTO -- The Chicago Blackhawks will end their 49-year Stanley Cup drought by defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins in the final, according to a simulation by EA Sports.

The video game developer, using its made-in-B.C. "NHL 10" game, says Cristobal Huet makes 43 saves and Jonathan Toews scores seven minutes into overtime to give the Hawks the Cup with a 2-1 win in Game 7. Three of the games in the final are decided in OT.

Chicago defenceman Duncan Keith wins the Conn Smythe trophy with four goals in the final and 25 points in the playoffs.

The simulation offers little hope for Canadian teams, with Montreal and Ottawa exiting in the first round after being swept by Washington and Pittsburgh, respectively. In the West, Vancouver dispatches Los Angeles in five games and Detroit in six before losing to Chicago in seven games in the Conference final.

In the East, Pittsburgh edges Washington in seven games to advance to the Stanley Cup final.

Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin tie for the playoff scoring lead with 31 points.

wtf, I have memory lapse or something.
I kept thinking Canucks swept the Blue Jackets last year. lol :haha:

Although I did miss the entire series last year, cause I was stuck in a cruise boat with no source of outside media.
Had to find a newspaper in the airport to find out Canucks swept first round.
