So they play an absolutely horrible game last night and instead of skating and working on their issues they skip practice. Nice.

This is why I rather have them get blown 6-1 or something last night.
Get some frustration in there. Then they know there's a LOT of things they
need to work on.

But now it looks like they "JUST" came short of a 3rd period comeback with
a final score of 5-3. Now everyone's talking about the bad reffing, and it's
overshadowing the piss poor effort of their PK. If they lose the series, I bet
they're gonna blame it on the refs. With that kind of effort last night,
even the refs wouldn't be able to save the Canucks.

And one more thing to add. They need to stop relying on finesse and fancy goals.
This is the playoffs, crash the damn net. Drive in hard... who cares if you're not
gonna score. You can easily draw penalties when you do that.

horrible part in the game was PK... and the players who were missed in the pratice today werent really the reason we lost the game

at least 3,5,6,55 are skating

PinoyDrifta 04-20-2010 11:57 AM

just heard on the radio that yeah it was an optional skate and these guys 22,33,17,14,26,42,23,29 were playing soccer WTF hahah wow...

AzNightmare 04-20-2010 12:14 PM

14, 17, 23 play the PK.

22, 33, 26 & 42 play the PP. (which potted 0 goals last night).

Maybe from the shot block from OT in game 2? Not sure...Just my speculation.

hope we can bounce back on wed. Some key points to work on is to minimize the pp for la. And we all know ffor sure the refs are against us. If la had the same situation of the puck kicking it in. I would for sure say that wwill be a good goal.

Am I the only one who thought the game was properly reffed?

For the most part, it was us who had the edge on physical play on LA which the refs didn't really impede nor discouraged.

As for the amount of PP's, LA was given 3, we were given 4. They just cashed in on all 3 of theirs and we cashed in on none.

Also, the refs initially called the non-goal in our favour; It was the war room in Toronto that overturned the refs call.

The refs IMO had no part in the Canuck loss.

PavelGTR 04-20-2010 01:56 PM

A somewhat similar situation....

Great68 04-20-2010 01:58 PM

I think that any goal off a skate should count.

Then we'll never have to deal with this kicking motion bullshit ever again.

Hondaracer 04-20-2010 02:07 PM

3 former NHLer's came on the radio today and had no problem with the optional skate today or the attendance, i'll take their word for it

Harvey Specter 04-20-2010 02:13 PM

The biggest issue right now for the Canucks is the god awful PK. The Kings have scored what 3 goals 5 on 5? If we clamp down on the PK, the Canucks have a chance to win the series.

Greenstoner 04-20-2010 02:19 PM

i know "history will be made" is kinda outplayed and getting annoying for some of you

but i must post this one for shits and giggles

They came out guns a blazing and when they play like that, the games not even close. Come out game 4, get done what needs to be done, no issues.....come back to Vancouver show LA what home ice is.....good days effort for round 1.

Exactly. You can't play half the game and except to win in the last 5 minutes especially in the playoffs and against a team like the Kings. Sure the Canucks are the highest scoring team in the 3rd period and can come back from been down a goal or two but the playoffs are much different compared to the reg season. The effort level needs to go up but that been said I think the Canucks had the effort going until the PK killed whatever confidence they had.

I can think of one similiar situation.

Team Canada...2002.

Gretzky said, after a poorly officiated game, it's us against the world. Everyone wants us to lose. We'll show them.
