Suddenly you think maybe something isn't that efficient in the path of the flow, be it intake or exhaust end of it. |
indeed it is pretty weird 20psi and barely breaks 200whp edit intake or exhaust, it still wont see 300whp even if it flows well. So i dont really think its that problem |
Current Chrysler, Mitsu and Hyundais' I4 engines are all products of GEMA. Actually Hyundai did the initial designs. It is likely that Hyundai's engines are more conservatively rated than the Mitsu.. since Lancer has a name to upkeep. It can also mean that Mitsu just have better bolt ons than the Hyundai engines (from the factory).. which can be remedied quickly by after market people. Basically Hyundai's Theta engine = Siemens VDO help on ECU coding, BW on variable timing mechanism; Mitsu = Mitsu in house. Unless Mitsu does extra things like micro polishing the parts before assembly, I can't see Hyundai's enghine can't do anything that Mitsu can. Some people would ask why the collaborate.. the simple thing is Mitsu was broke, it is $$ and survival. Context is very important. Comparing Civic SI and the Hyundai, one is the high strung, top of the range of its model range; the other is the starter of its model.. in the end it comes down to personal preference. You like all revs and drives in flat places like Richmond, pick the civic; You want initial torque and more rounded performance go for the Hyundai. This is Edmund's dyno test http://blogs.edmunds.com/straightlin...coupe-20t.html Shows 200whp which means factory numbers were pretty conservative at 210hp |
^ /facepalm @ the exhaust pipe |

lol tats one hell of a dent |

only reason why its dented is so it can have some extra under brace tie... |
The engineers could've had a billion other alternatives to make both the brace and pipe fit without denting the pipe... Maybe they're just purposely leaving places for enthuiasts to upgrade (so people are happy when they feel the gains) |

Catback doesn't make any power on this car, shops have already removed that kink and found no gain, until a bigger turbo is installed and real power starts to be made. |
pretty sure Hyundai's engineers made that kink for a good all-rounded purpose btw which forum for genesis coupe? |

but cat back alone, no gains, where most cars do gain something. a few companys have claimed gains, but other companys have run open DP and found no power in stock form, same with removing the stock air filter, alone that gains nothing. Pedro, the main site is www.gencoupe.com There are others, but this seems to be the biggest and best. |
