Civic Si or Genesis Coupe 2.0T?

I thought this would be a good place to ask
Im buying my first car soon and it has come down to the Civic Si or the Genesis Coupe 2.oT


Si coupe costs 31,785.25
genesis 2.0T costs 26,060.00

i like the styling of the genesis better also the price is more favorable over the SI

but what about the performance aspects? which one is better?
i might get into the tuning scene later down the road..

Genesis. Get the premium package.

If you're into tuning, you could probably get something done with genesis later on as more stuff comes out for it.

Genesis in every possible way BOOST!

My vote goes to Genesis.

From a performance perspective, the genesis coupe is better.

If you get the Si, LS600h owners will spank you and then RS will criticize you.

From a banker's perspective... still pick the genesis, lower resale value but meh, you'll have so much more fun you won't want to sell it!
And it's not like most cars have decent residuals now anyways

But it's an SI.

as an SI owner its sad to say this but get the genesis..... bang for buck def in the genesis favor. even if the SI retains its value more than the genesis you'd still be ahead in cash since the MSRP is much cheaper for genesis also theres a million fucking civics on the road....

its still too soon to tell regarding reliability......

genesis coupe hands down too many civics out there and genesis styling is nicer

I did a test drive on Genesis couple 2.0. It feels great when the turbo kicked in. For that price , Its a nice car to drive.

+1 for Genesis coupe.

the Genesis 2.0T is slower than Civic Si in many ways due to its heavy weight.
The Si is slower than LS600hL but definitely faster than 2.0T, I did a quick research and saw the test results.
Every test results shows 7.0+ sec 0-60mph time for 2.0T, whereas Civic Si can be as quick as 6.2 seconds. (Honda claims 6.7 seconds)

The 3.8L V6 Genesis is faster, but slower than 370Z or Mustang GT.

slower than Si with same hp output higher torque rating yet slower

similiar hp/torque rating against its competitor for the V6 engine yet slower than 350z/370z

i dont know about you, but id rather pick a car that's designed to look like a sports AND pull pretty decent performance figures rather than a car that's butchered in design to be a less 'painful' car when it hits a pedestrian. Honda lost it's appeal on the civic when they dropped their double wishbone rear suspension in 2001 from greed of Toyota's revenue with hitting lower production costs. If you're looking for a personal robot, buy Honda, if you're looking for a nice sports car in that price range, buy a Genesis.

but yikes... what are the insurance costs these days for a 2 dr coupe (and one being rwd turbo no less) these days for a first time driver (OP didn't mention age) and car owner with no icbc claims rating discount?

Honda is better quality and relentless reliability.

There are lots of reasons why huyindai is cheaper. If quality is not a concern for you, then dont buy the Honda. Fords make nicer cars than the huyindai. I'd have a Mustang Pony package over the korean car's terrible turbo.

If you want a car to stay stock in pick SI, if you wana mod, Genesis.
