depends. Genesis is still too new. Give it a year or two to settle out any recalls or tweaks here and there.

And regarding the image of Hyundai.

Yes. It's a Hyundai, not as "reliable" as a Honda . . . . . . but then again, could you justify paying $26k+ for a civic?

Can you justify $36k for CSX-S or RSX-S? Same powerplant

true that. The best route is just to test drive both vehicles, compare specs, then compare pricing, and keep in mind the weather conditions you will be driving in, along with insurance and gas prices, passengers, and vehicle maintenance prices.

pandalove 09-15-2009 10:43 AM

you know but all you people's standard ... there is no car that is good i can't get a civic because everyone has one ... i can't get a hyundai cuz its crap ...

t7n7 09-15-2009 12:57 PM

Genesis hands down. Looks better, more comfortable, faster, cheaper ... its the new Civic.

AzNightmare 09-15-2009 02:35 PM

Can you justify paying xx,xxx for any car?
It's all about how deep your wallet is.

^^^

pre production model. wasn't supposed to be on the streets, as in it wasn't ready yet.

also, that is the first time in automotive history that an airbag hasn't went off. Because of that picture alone I'm afriad to drive a vehicle at all.

While we're posting pictures without knowing the whole background. I'm gonna sell my car because it could catch fire at any moment

Never mind the fact that it was pushing over 450hp to the wheels and was at a race event, you shouldn't buy one of these cars because it will catch fire for sure!!!!!!11

i only seen less than 10 of them.

Brand image still kicks in. $25 start, tops $30g, than tops $35g for v6

than sedan starts $35, tops $48g for top model. Who in their right mind wonna pay for a company that was once shitty (dont know about now because only time will tell) instead paying for something more reliable with a better brand image.

WRX, MS3, GTi / G35 sedan, M35, TL, 3 series/5 series, or add a bit more money and get a E class if u are gonna spend $50g on a hyundai

today people will start buying korean brands only when its cheaper than japanese brand.

WHen a Sony panel lines up side by side with samsung/LG , if they were the same price which one will sell more? I would be willing to buy a samsung (owned many samsung products in the past) when it is cheaper. A $3000 dollar 55" tv if its $500 + cheaper than i would consider samsung. Same thing with cars. Is samsung a bad product? no but if they were the exact same price as some jap brand, than its absolutely a no brainer to go with the jap. Same thing applies to car industry

car industry wise, when was the last time u saw a person driving hyundai/kia? its either gonna be A a white dude, B a korean patriot.

SpuGen 09-16-2009 08:33 PM

Not everyone needs the brand name to justify paying more for something. Especially when it's overpriced for less.

We call these people brand whores, in typical Vancouver fashion.
I'm a brand whore myself, but I'll go for whatever is the better deal.

SSR/Work/Volks Vs Rota/Motegi/XXR(sportmax) I would go with the Legit stuff. Only because it's legit, come in better sizes, and fake wheels are for broke faggots.

Japanese Vs Korean - It could go either way. Back then, it would be Japanese cars easily, but now Hyundai has a car with a great platform. I'm all in for the Genesis. I'm not looking for Lexus quality for this price.

The list can keep going.
"tried and true" vs "new and unknown"
As a consumer, I'm gonna look for the best value and quality for the price.
As a car enthusiast, I'm gonna look for a good platform that's fun. RWD.
I'm Young Male adult. I'm not looking for a car that will last until I'm Married. The wife can buy groceries.

Even if the Genesis was at exactly the same price or more than the Civic, I would go for the Genesis. And just throwing it in; I'd go for the Vette or Viper Vs the GTR.

van fashion is played out to the max

i agree on using legit brands, knock offs is for wonna be people. Get the real deal or gtfo and not get it at all.

last but not least
Different strokes for different folks afterall.

Dont get me wrong hyundai imrpoved HUGEEEEEE over the last decade, just that if they were cheaper than i'd be down for it.
