Does anyone else wonder how much money Translink is losing on unpaid fares? I've riden the skytrain a lot the past week and have yet to be asked to show my ticket. One busy night at Yaletown Roundhouse employees were shouting to riders to board the trains without buying fares as it was too busy. I would guess that 1000 or more riders that night alone boarded the trains without buyint fares.

Sven Kramer To Reporter: 'Are You Stupid?'

Dutch speedskater Sven Kramer won a gold medal on the first full day of the Vancouver Olympics. Afterwards, he wasn't too happy about a request from a reporter.

In the below clip, a reporter asks Kramer, "If you can say your name and your country and what you just won here." Kramer quickly interjects: "Are you stupid? Hell no I'm not going to do that."

fliptuner 02-19-2010 08:51 AM

At least he cleared up the part about the reporter not being Canadian.

Seriously, was she NOT watching the event long enough to catch the guys name? I mean only the Dutch athletes wear orange too. Doesn't she have a shitload of NBC producers to give her some intel?

They were out of Intel, they only had AMD :haha::haha:

GodZilla 02-19-2010 09:01 AM

Does anyone know if they have someone downtown handing out maps to all the activites and places to see? I am headed down and want to see

Inaii 02-19-2010 09:03 AM

haven't heard of anyone doing that, but if they are lemme know where! :D

sonick 02-19-2010 09:04 AM

Yeah haha, good thing she said it was NBC.

To be fair for the reporter, it seems like it was more so that when the editors are cutting the footage for replay ("for tape identification purposes"), they will know who it is and what they won, not actually for the reporting. However, she could have just as easily done it herself.

Bridges, as in Swiss house? How is it at night, and what time should you go to line up. I know its a restaurant in the day, but dunno about night time.

That's why I've booked the whole next week off work to just party and enjoy the Olympics while it lasts, figured I've made enough money the first week and I have friends coming in from LA, Seattle & NY to experience the games so I might as well enjoy it without having to worry about work.

Originally I heard it wasn't great and there are 3 different sections there, upstairs is like a dining room higher class affair, downstairs has a dining room as well but it's pretty ghetto, then there is the bar side which is pretty nice decent patio lots of tv's etc

the lineups at like 830 were an hour long each side, me and some buddies kinda snuck in and bypassed the line lol fuck it was hectic trying not to get kicked out trying to explain why we were inside without our name down on the list haha

Unbelievable........... I heard a reporter on TV say that ribs were broken and an internal organ was punctured. Doctors couldn't believe she continued. Do these reporters just say whatever they want, then worry about if it is true or not?

seakrait 02-19-2010 06:57 PM

^^^ it's true! ctv said so! :) crazy props! such heart!

however, the slovenian delegation is thinking about suing the IOC and VANOC for not making the course safe enough (or some shit like that).
