The first 5 days it was actually a celebration of people around the world just gathering to have a good time. Now it's just pot smoking, drunk people bumming around the downtown streets. The whole place is littered with trash everywhere and reeks of dried piss. And I can only imagine it going downhill from here on, until the end of the games.

Agreed 100%. Was down there last night and saw a guy climb the street sign...cops came running towards the pole and he jumped down and tried to run but the cops were after his ass!! and jumped him and put him on cuffs

We were just shaking our heads! and laughing at his ass

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP)—American halfpipe bronze medalist Scotty Lago volunteered to leave the Olympics on Friday after risque pictures of him showed up on the Internet.

Lago, who was awarded his bronze medal Thursday night, was at a party, wearing a Team USA T-shirt when somebody snapped a photo of a woman kneeling below Lago’s waist to kiss his medal. That picture, and another showing him sticking the medal in the woman’s mouth while teammate Greg Bretz looks on, appeared Friday on the TMZ Web site.

Lago apologized to officials at the U.S. Olympic Committee and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association and decided to go home.

“Scotty Lago is a great athlete, but with that comes a responsibility of proper conduct, and his involvement in this situation is not acceptable,” U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association President and CEO Bill Marolt said in an e-mail. “Scotty realizes his conduct was inappropriate. He has formally apologized and also made a decision to leave Vancouver today.”

In the aftermath of several out-of-competition incidents in Turin, one of which resulted in the dismissal of freestyle skier Jeret Peterson, the USOC has made extra efforts to emphasize athletes be on their best behavior when they’re at the Olympics.

Before the Beijing Games, the USOC began its “Ambassador Program” that athletes are made to complete before they travel to the games.

Lago was a member of a group of snowboarders called the “Frends,” that included Kevin Pearce and Danny Davis, both of whom were badly injured before the Olympics and couldn’t make the trip.

“I put all that aside and rode,” Lago said.

He said he put together one of the best runs of his life to win the surprise bronze on a night overshadowed by Shaun White and his gold-medal performance.

Anyways, has anyone been to the German/Saxony house? What is it during the day? And at night is it some sort of bar/club/dance place?

I don't know, the nightclub scene was still pretty good last night, was at Ginger and Joseph Richard and it was packed with people just having a blast, many hotties and out of towners too. Streets where probably like that because of all the kids that came in for Deadmau that can't get into clubs.

Saxony House turns into a what they call a German Discotech at 11pm, basically a DJ, it was pretty good when I went.

Yea the nightclub scene remains untouched or better because of the new people in town. But its just the people found partying in the streets that get all rowdy over nothing. Guess thats what you get wheb the things are 'free'.

What time should I go to Saxony House if I want to make it in by 11pm?

Which upcoming events that's NOT up at Whistler/Cypress, do the Canadians have the best chance at getting a medal?

Harvey Specter 02-20-2010 02:44 PM

Anyone know if O-Zone (rmd venue) is still letting in for MAriana's trench tonight?

any others filled up and closed?

yaletown was closed really early cause it hit capacity.
Today is even WORSE for people so I'm expecting it to be closed already...
