I'm gonna look for the game on you tube or whatever to watch the ending.

find the game (or at least the last rock) on youtube yet? :)

back to figure skating, nohomo.. from what i understand, the short program is the skaters doing a bunch of required 'tricks' and the long program is where the skaters really let loose and show off what they can do?

and i agree, back in the 90's mens figure skating was almost fun to watch with elvis starting the quads to good music and i think browning doing backflips. didnt elvis KO lindros in a bar?

the wife says: yes, that's pretty much it.

the short program has the skater do all the tricks they have to do (like a checklist) but if they fuck up, that's it and they live with their mistakes. with the long/free program, they make up their program and if they miss a trick, they can try to do the trick again later to make up points as long as they don't screw up the rest of their program.

don't forget the the Olympics aren't covered by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms (is that it?) otherwise we'd be watching women ski-jumping.... i wonder what that means for the language laws

hongy 02-16-2010 11:10 PM

^^ Didn't someone post about how most citizens of quebec don't acutally care all that much, and that most of that bs is just Politicians trying to cause shit?

Ya I was there. I was so close to the front that I fell forward enough to be completely horizontal. Really sucked that they didn't, but the barrier was apparently just trashed, and one girl had her leg broken and the bone protruded out of her flesh.
Don't figure why they didn't see that this would happen and didn't get very good barricades. Their shows are ALWAYS like this. Oh well, I just hope that all the people who were hurt get better sooner than later.

Cauldron access to change

Work is underway early this morning on changing the public access to the Olympic cauldron on the Vancouver waterfront.
Workers are moving concrete barriers and changes are being made to the much-complained about chain link fence.
It's still too early to tell how much access visitors will have.
