Although the quality and driving sucks, it took me forever to edit this as I was having some type of sound issue near the end of the clips within FCP. Took all night to upload it as well.

Time was 7:38.814 on my all stock NSX-R except with soft, racing tires. All driving aids off. The car is somewhat tricky to handle at high speed cornering. I hit the bumper and luckily I didn't spin out but I was holding my steering wheel so tight don't know if that helps or not but I got through the whole course! hah.

I tried it again with my modified NSX-R and I got 7:07.659 but with all aids on. I tried driving it without the aids but its tough I spin out so much. Too much power I guess and/or I don't know how to tune properly lol. Both cars have soft, racing tires.

Wow thats a crazy setup!! is it easier to drive with tthis setup?

What do you mean? Easier then what? Like a PS3 controller?
I think using a Logitech G25 or G27 on racing games is way better then a PS3 controller but others may like the classic controller style which is still cool. Whatever floats your boat as they say. It was tricky for the first few minutes driving RHD style but I picked it up really quickly :p

I had my Logitech G25 for a very long time. First time I used it on was NFS Underground or Most Wanted along with GT4. So that was around 2005 I think? Maybe a bit later I'm not 100% sure it was a very long time ago. I had it on a little table with the TV a few feet away in front of it and it was horrible. Not sturdy enough so I started to build my own cockpit/cabin thingy out of PVC piping. Later on I heard about this playseat thing so I picked one up and I can't get enough of it.

The only flaw is that its really tight around the legs. The next step would be to build my own out of metal framing or something but I don't have enough space to do that. Maybe in the future when I live in a larger home with a dedicated entertainment room or something lol. The playseat is wicked cause its adjustable and I can fold it up, make it smaller so it can fit in my closet with enough space for other junk.

lol 06-23-2011 09:41 AM

Yea vs. regular controller. I am amazed at this. I want to buy a NSX and see if I can compete with your time :p

EDIT: Ok I just bought an NSX-R... i turned off every driving aid including ABS. I am gonna buy some racing soft tires and give this thing a rip around the 'ring.

EDIT: Ok I crashed about 15 times. I like when I apply the brake the ass end is magnetically charged to the barriers around the side of the track lol. I got around in 8:14 my first try. I got used to the brakes about 5 mins in.

I drove around the track again with ASM on and did it in 7:34.54
EDIT: holy shit smashed my old record.. new time 7:28.062 w. ASM on.

====
EDIT: with my modified NSX-R I did it in 7:07.078
EDIT: new time 7:01:205... except i crashed once so red don't count :(
EDIT: new time 7:00:866 :D lol

From my experience, Racing wheel owns when racing and ps3 remote is better for drifting.

Once you get use to it, I think NSX-R is one of the best driver's car to be driven in the game. I managed a 6:55.615 on Nurburgring with Racing Soft/460hp and drivers aid. Some youtube video did it in 6:45 I think.

and the used car dealership only updates once you've progressed in the game via special events, seasonal events, etc.. correct?

the dealerships update 6 cars (??) every in-game day.
each race or license test, each seasonal event RACE (not the whole 5 race event) will update the dealership a bit.

twitchyzero 07-07-2011 05:11 PM

every race you start refreshes the UCD by 6 cars...even if you don't finish the race. OCD only updates once in a while (usually along with seasonal events) from PD

If you scroll up you can see some videos of the playseat in action.

Has anyone changed the shift knob on their G25/7? I bought one on eBay and I have no idea how to thread the thing on. And it looks like the shifter rod is a smaller diameter.
