only have 200 cars in my garage...800 more to go :fullofwin:
not sure why they bother including POS kei cars if they can't even give it the premium treatment.

They need to update with a way to skip through your replays... I'm tired of having to wait through it all until something picture-worthy happens.

ahaha! That's such a sweet photo! Awesome stuff.

I haven't played GT5 in so long. I was doing the Formula Gran Turismo World Championship in between hockey periods. Almost finished! Then I can go back and just race my Spoon S2K at Nurburgring! I'm having a very difficult time with the NSX-R on Nurburgring, which is strange as I've never had that problem before? I have to test different settings.

twitchyzero 04-13-2011 10:36 PM

i just googled it actually not mine.
on that note i hvae trouble finding spoon cars...i find my UCD/OCD rarely updates..i thought it updates every game day (which is supposed to be after each race)

UCD updates 6 new cars for every run you load. Works even with practice runs.

This is true. Infact you can enter a race and just quit before it starts. The used dealership will have 6 new cars :) I do it 3-4 times and then check UCD. The whole thing is filled with new cars :)
It was tough to find any Spoon or Mugen cars but after every race I did, I checked out UCD and if there was something I liked and could afford at the time I'd buy it on the spot!

Just curious, but what wheel do you guys recommend? I've been really thinking about picking this game up now and a wheel.

twitchyzero 04-14-2011 07:56 PM

if you are on a budget get Driving Force GT
if you want the full experience w/ H-gated shifter & clutch the G27 is a great choice..G25 if you can find it used.
Fanatec Porsche wheels are also amazing from reviews and their prices have become more competitive recently.

european 04-14-2011 09:48 PM

^^
DOMOOOOOOO HAAARD GAAAAAAY!! HAHAHAH Oh that's so good! OMg I can't stop laughing. hahah

I use a Logitech G25 that I modified along with a Playseat Evolution. Definitely worth it in my opinion.
May someone tell me why after the update all of my NSX handle like crap? They use to be awesome with not much of tune now its like omgwtf?!
I just finished the Nascar thing now its onto the Dream Car. Almost done!

haha, SAY! SAY! SAY!!

Is the shifter and clutch the only real difference? I'm going to assume the shifter is Initial D/Battle Gear style where you shift up and down to change gears?

Looking it up right now, and it seems the GT also has less force feedback. Does the GT get stiffer as you turn the wheel too?

The G25 is about twice as expensive as the GT, so I'm leaning towards the GT first to see how it goes first.

european 04-15-2011 07:56 AM

The G25 has a 6 speed gear box. Just like a real car. You can also turn this knob and just shift up and down like you mentioned. You can also use the pedals behind the steering wheels. You can also just put it on automatic and just drive. So its up to you what style you want to use.

The force feedback on the G25 is awesome! Probably one of the best if not the best for a racing steering wheel.

I highly recommend the Logitech G25. It's worth all the money! It makes play any racing game completely different then using a regular PS3 or any other similar controller.

twitchyzero 04-15-2011 08:21 AM

i can't comment on the stiffness of DFGT nor the forcefeedback...but all three wheels i mentioned have dual feedback motors so they are all pretty accurate

if you compare G27 to G25 though the steering is a bit more smooth on the former and so is the shifting...pretty much the G27 is just a slightly tweaked version of G25 but it doesn't have the sequential shifting (like you mentioned Initial D styled up/down)

oh and another major difference is that the DFGT pedals don't have resistance so it's harder to tell how much force you are applying...the resistance is VERY well done on the G wheels

Hey HG, I might be putting up my G25 wheel + Wheel stand + GT5 game for sale soon.
Let me know if you are interested.

twitchyzero 04-15-2011 01:09 PM

any tips for Nascar on Daytona? They force you to use ASM and it just cuts acceleration around the bends...even if i draft i keep falling behind.

I'm currently using the Fanatec GT3RS Clubsport, which replaced my G27. Both offer good force feedback, but the effects are slightly dampened in the Fanatec due to the much more realistic and heavier steering wheel. I don't use the sifters from either setup because neither of them feel anything remotely close to a real shifter. The paddle shifters on the G27 has better feedback, but the Fanatec's clubsport pedals are in a completely different league. I find it was easier to achieve faster lap times with the G27 because of the smaller and lighter wheel.

Fanatec also offers a lot more tuning options within the wheel itself, which is neat, and the wheel uses more advanced electronics, but I suspect that's also why I get some electrical noises when the force feedback is pushing against my hands.

My main gripe with the G27 was the poor design of the helical drivetrain. The wheel is very smooth and virtually silent, but Logitech obviously didn't do any R&D on the product as the bushings were not beefed up to handle the added thrust forces from the helical gears. This resulted in clunks in the drivetrain in one direction. The G25 is louder overall but at least it doesn't clunk.

dark0821 04-17-2011 11:33 AM

I am using the G25 and its defn a fantastic wheel, I heard really really good reviews on the Fanatec GT3RS, but honestly for the price, I dont know... if you are on a budget, get the driving force GT, but honestly if its my pick, i would defn pick up the G25 again...

Santofu 04-17-2011 11:37 AM

Someone sell me the g25 CHEAP! :alone:
