I moved over to a compact crankset

Revscene special price of $100 for my standard FSA SL-K carbon crankset with bb, 172.5. Lots of life left in the 53-39 rings, bb is smooth and rolls well. I have the tools to help with your install too if you need :)

how do you ride brakeless with no foot retention?? or are those spd flat pedals

i dig the colours but the bars not so much

320icar 10-12-2013 08:49 PM

They were platform clipless pedals, but I swapped them for crank brother candy 2's (as seen in the last pic). I haven't had a chance to ride it much, but I'm not sure in the bars either. I end up putting a lot of weight on my palms.

We'll see how it goes in the coming days

It's a beautiful day. Whytecliff park is an amazing ride. Unfortunately, I got the nipple chafe and biker's herpes rash. Learned today that I should really lube my inner thigh before long rides..... no homo

604CEFIRO 10-13-2013 12:53 PM

me, mc.jolaika, his friend, and 4 la bicicletta guys & 1 gal road out to whytcliff today as well. was a nice day

nipple chafe? never got that before.. what material is it that ur wearing? and hows the fit?

chamois creme is good. Get a jar of Rapha creme, it'll last u at least 6mons. its the nicest smelling. but u can definitely get away with using the cheaper stuff. they're all the same really... it just becomes a wet mess after an hour anyways...

Wore a cotton/polyester T-shirt that I got from Running for the cure last sunday. Sized medium and fits pretty well actually. Had a hydration pack on with the chest and waist strap that was somewhat loose which may have added to the chafing.

PS: I really should start buying proper riding gear. The ride across Lions gate is always a bitch when you see these riders with their riding suits on and all their pro-looking gear and they block my way. Why look pro when you get passed by amateur riders? Maybe I should rethink getting gear as I'm pretty amateur

ZN6 10-13-2013 01:11 PM

Damn, I like the GT40 colours.

I learned not to be so quick to judge. Maybe they're conserving energy for something else or maybe they came back from Squamish or Lions Bay. They could very well hand your ass to you somewhere down the road, with or without gear.

But to each their own. Ride safe! :)

604CEFIRO 10-13-2013 03:20 PM

^ or they are at the tail end of a 100+ km ride that started in richmond lol

Both my kona jake the snake and the vintage bike are gone!

Tomorrow I pick up a the same year kona jake from my buddy in size 53cm! (the jake i sold was 49cm).

Pretty excited to have a correctly sized commuter/winter bike!

Guys, I'm moving up North - to Burns Lake, where Gravity Logic has just finished building a bunch of new bike trails!

So, time for a mountain bike... I'm a total MTB noob. Any good deals to be had right now?

What kind of bike do you ride now? Will you be riding trails, concrete? Or even downhill?

Make sure it's light. I'd suggest dual suspension, but with an air rear shock (cake creek, fox air etc) that has a lockout.

I ride a BMC SR01 road bike. I will be riding trails, single track? I'm not sure how much DH is at Burns Lake.

Looking for a dual suspension bike of some sort like you suggested.

604CEFIRO 10-14-2013 02:40 PM

Just picked up my new bike. I consider it an upgrade although I'm going from a JtS to a Jake lol. 105/ultegra vs tiagra/105.

The size is way better tho.

I'll be riding this for my daily commute and bad weather winter rides. Gonna treat my focus a bit better
