+1

I bought my 2013 Cinelli Gazzetta Della Strada commuter from them @ MSRP (cost a lot, I know but I wanted this bike.)

They got what I wanted and within a reasonable time frame. Did they really go above and beyond to earn my business? No. Was I a customer who knew what he wanted the moment he walked through the doors? Yes. I was prepared to just give them my money and only because they were an authorized Cinelli dealer (and the only one in town.) Had I known 604CEFIRO was going there on a Sunday, I would have warned him. I was there the day before and they mentioned closing on Sundays. I didn't think it would be so sudden.

Could I have taken my business elsewhere or online? Easily, yes. But I'd have to fork out extra on the bike build and deal with a US warranty I wasn't interested in.

I hear the schpiel they give about their prices. I get that they're a brick and mortar bicycle shop and it's a competitive industry. But don't tell everyone that there are extra duties, taxes, shipping and "other fees" when you compare online prices.

Duties? On bike parts? Please. Any well-informed customer knows there is rarely (if ever) duty on bicycles and parts. And taxes are only at 5% now. I'm not sure who they're trying to fool. If they had gone a little bit further and a little above and beyond to keep me coming back, sure, I'd tell my buddies to shop there but unfortunately, that didn't happen.

My initial feelings stand firm on that shop. This isn't their fault but I'm not part of their market demographic or clientele and I felt a little uneasy shopping there. I'm willing to pay the extra bit to a shop who is willing to take care of me in the long run. Not only that, they sell some very niche brands which for most of us are products that are beyond any point of diminishing returns. I didn't expect much from them but it would have been nice for them to go the extra mile in some way or form.

+1 for service at Kinetik.

I had a stuck bottom bracket in McRusty and he tried to get it out for me. Didn't charge me anything even though he spent a while on it. He's my go-to for small parts and misc other stuff. Also has a sweet Masi that I've got my eye on... if it drops in price I might have to buy it. n+1

I was hoping he had the Masi Strada Speciale still available. Would have been the perfect hipster commuter bike.

I kinda wish Kinetik had a better product line up and more to choose from when it comes to road bikes (Scott/Masi) but it's a one-man operation and a small shop.

I did buy my first bike from him (2010 Scott SUB30) and the experience all in all was excellent. Offered free tune ups as long as I owned the bike (which I don't anymore) and offered 15% off on parts/gear. I like his "cash" prices.

Everytime I go there I drool over the Masi CX Speciale. It would of been mine long time ago if it had disk brakes.
Spoiler!

It is a shimano nexus 3-speed hub. Super easy and fast to ride on flat roads, not so much on anything hilly.

I paid a bit less than the standard rate since I already went in for a tune and i traded him my 100mm deda stem for a stock cannondale 110mm one that wasn't as "ballerific" but it was the right size.

110mm thomson stem will be ordered on monday to match my seatpost which is en route from wiggle

edit: sorry i read that as "what did he end up charging". he changed:
- my cleats which were way off
- moved seat forward
- tilted bars upwards
- lowered stem more
- longer stem

J/K Haha, It's huge but at least now I can see who's calling and no more 60km/h emergency stops for an unimportant call (I'm on call for work these days, cell always has to be on me )

That was probably my stem off my CAADX. He swapped out the stock one 110mm iirc for a 90mm BBB one.
