Haha. What a load of crap.

"won't retool their expensive libraries to accomodate the iPad"

They don't need to "retool" their libraries. All their content should be stored in an industry stadard format on their servers. All they have to do is change the front-end that accesses their content to allow it to be used on different devices.

Wow, what a concept. I bet this has never been done before - having your content adapt to work on various systems/browsers.

That statement is clearly taken out of context and is meant to try and fool people into thinking that anyone who wants to use HTML5 must completely redo all their content.

Gee, I wonder how all the other video sites were able to so quickly and easily add HTML5 support without "retooling" their libraries.

Flash now available on the Iphone Ipad!!!

The program uses remote desktop to connect to a computer running Firefox and flash.

Massive iPad security breach:

goo3 06-09-2010 09:31 PM

technical details:

Quote:

Goatse Security obtained its data through a script on AT&T's website, accessible to anyone on the internet. When provided with an ICC-ID as part of an HTTP request, the script would return the associated email address, in what was apparently intended to be an AJAX-style response within a Web application. The security researchers were able to guess a large swath of ICC IDs by looking at known iPad 3G ICC IDs, some of which are shown in pictures posted by gadget enthusiasts to Flickr and other internet sites, and which can also be obtained through friendly associates who own iPads and are willing to share their information, available within the iPad "Settings" application.

To make AT&T's servers respond, the security group merely had to send an iPad-style "User agent" header in their Web request. Such headers identify users' browser types to websites.

The group wrote a PHP script to automate the harvesting of data. Since a member of the group tells us the script was shared with third-parties prior to AT&T closing the security hole, it's not known exactly whose hands the exploit fell into and what those people did with the names they obtained. A member tells us it's likely many accounts beyond the 114,000 have been compromised.

nice program. But what if you are taking it on a trip, do any of you encode it at 640x480 or does 320x240 looks fine?

SuperSlowSS 06-15-2010 07:49 PM

well after 2 weeks of traveling in japan with nothing but an ipad for the first time.
I have to say.. it rocks! Did everything i needed it to do...and girls love it. lol

Soundy 06-15-2010 10:37 PM

^You realize that liking the iPad for any reason means you're an Apple fanboi who sucks Steve Job's cock, right? Doesn't matter if you actually do find it useful, that only proves that you've drunk the Kool-Aid.

SuperSlowSS 06-15-2010 11:22 PM

Lets see you pull your laptop/netbook out in the middle of a busy city to look up information. And walk around with it.

Also, I like pussy. I like anything that helps me get more.

btw, not sucking steve job's cock doesn't make you not gay.
And in this case.. it makes you really gay and stupid. :)

Ch28 06-15-2010 11:56 PM

Let see you do it too without looking gay carrying a murse.

If I need to look up something, I'll pull my phone out.

SuperSlowSS 06-16-2010 01:11 PM

you can also use a backpack. most people do when backpacking.

...to look at the time? I guess it is fine if you don't mind paying for international roaming.

Psykopathik 06-16-2010 01:52 PM

Wouldn't you pay for roaming on an iPad as well? A phone with a decent browser is most likely to have wifi as well as your regular data connections.

SuperSlowSS 06-16-2010 04:38 PM

learn to read DuhDang.

!LittleDragon, I had all the information stored on my ipad already. Also I had this cool offline map app.

If you want to travel ultra light. ipad is the way to go. I had one 14lb backpack for the trip. netbook would have added an extra 1.5lbs. :) Of course it isn't a laptop replacement. But it helped me get by 14 days without laptop.

!LittleDragon 06-16-2010 05:30 PM

I still think it's too big for that purpose. All this info can be stored on a cell phone. I was able to get around New York a few years back with my old Winmo phone. Garmin, Tom Tom, iGo, iGuidance, etc... you have a lot of choices for offline navigation on a cell phone. I actually used it the last few roadtrips, it got me to Vegas and LA, I used to have the passenger hold a laptop with a GPS receiver on the roof. I still bring the laptop to view movies but I can easily go without it now.

I recently made the move to Android so I don't know how the next trip will go, doesn't seem to be as many GPS programs for Android as there are for Winmo.

Ch28 06-16-2010 06:54 PM

Ying is getting so much hate in here :mamoru:

I can see where he's coming from and can sort of picture it in my head. Yes a laptop or cell phone can work but I can see why an iPad would also work in this situation. You pull it out. Press a button and you're ready to go. No need to hold up the laptop while opening the screen or trying to surf on a tiny cell phone screen.
