this game is fucking awesome, been playing it every night til 5am. This is what BF2 should have been in so many ways (with larger maps and jets of course), takes me back to my 1942/desert combat competitive days...

You gotta remember this thread started for the BETA. Most of those problems have been solved and apparently another patch is on its way to fix current issues. And to increase the cooldown time of the mortar (so i heard).

Is this game better than call of duty modern warefare 2 on the ps3. I was thinking about picking it up.

I'm starting to hate the small amount of players later at night on Xbox. If I play at 5:00 no problem full or near full games. Around 10:00 I'll join a game and it will be like me and 2 others vs 8 people on the other team who are spawn camping you where you can't do shit but try and run.

i just got this for ps3 and the online isnt working for me, it says that it cant connect to EA. :(

^ Sometimes the EA servers are down, this affects a bunch of EA games and not just BC2.

lol got to play with ohenry and TOSd tonight while me and my buddies were playing in a small game of 4 on 4..

anyways we started using in the game chat, just go to options and click on open mic instead pushing a button to talk.. since nobody knows whats the preset button to talk on pc..

just picked up this game for PC, is there a way to use it with steam? or do i just use my EA account

The file is probably under your EA or DICE folder.

so i just added it to non steam games under "my games" in steam... but is there no way for it to operate like steam games? updates/achievements/invite friends?

no it wont function as it would if you bought it off steam. the friends list might still work in a different way...not too certain about it though.

All that stuff is done in game anyways, not even steam. All that stuff is connected to your EA account.

my friend says you can enter a retail cd key into steam, then it gets bound to your account and you can use it as if you bought it off steam. can't confirm though

Tried it during launch and it didn't work, dunno about now.

bad company 2 is not steamworks (full steam integration, including friends list, valve anti-cheat, server browser etc...)

only steamworks games can be redeemed on steam, and very few non-valve games are steamworks (the latest Total War and the russian apoc. crazy resource heavy dx11 Metro2033 come to mind)

nope. it's not like MW2 where steamworks is supported (steam cloud, steam achivements, friends list access etc)
