GOALLLLLLLLLLLL

orange7 02-23-2010 06:31 PM

the captain has scored!!

411ken 02-23-2010 06:32 PM

Maybe he'll finally get interviewed after the game.. since he is the captain and all ;)

I wonder what Brodeur is thinking on the bench? Probably swearing at the team for giving Luuuuu so much Goal support!! 8 and 7(so far).. and he got 3 and 2,,

so which goalie are you guys picking to start tomorrow?

Jackwimmer 02-23-2010 06:37 PM

uhh...is that even a question?
only thing im kinda disappointed in is that they shoulda gave the penalty shot to rick nash, for god sakes the man is trying so hard to score, poor guy keeps getting screwed over
like in torino his shot went in even though gerber saved it, but his glove was clearly in the net LOL

Jackwimmer 02-23-2010 06:39 PM

oh snap, spoke too soon!! RICK NASH!!

you can't automatically assume it's Lu. How much can you take out of Lu's performance against Norway and Germany anyway? Canada could of had Corey Hirsch in net and the results would of been the same.

Jackwimmer 02-23-2010 06:45 PM

thing is though, if they were gonna play brodeur, why not just give him this game as a practice session for tmrw? seems rather pointless to play lu and then go back to brodeur imo...

1exotic 02-23-2010 06:45 PM

Good win... Canada has some good momentum going into tomorrows game vs. RUSSIA. Babcock has to make a smart decision and keep Luongo in net... would be nervous if Brouder plays...
Besides the goalies Canada has to play faster and shoot more not just make fancy passes.

orange7 02-23-2010 06:47 PM

Brodeur let in 2 goals against the swis, and lu let in 2 goals against ger.

penner2k 02-23-2010 06:47 PM

I guess it was wishful thinking I'd be able to get teh OST

Not really racist! 02-23-2010 06:49 PM

solid game

good to see nash get a goal
hopefully this game gives us lots of confidence for tomorrow which will be the real test

Definitely true... although it would be total BS if they put Brodeur back in net.
It would make no sense in putting Luongo in net if they were going to switch back to Brodeur.

tacobell 02-23-2010 06:52 PM

I'm also hoping Pronger's minutes are limited tomorrow, hoping Babcock doesn't match him up as the shut down D against Ovie's line. IMO, Pronger has looked the worst out of all the Canadians

Armind 02-23-2010 06:57 PM

Well deserved goal for Nash!

411ken 02-23-2010 07:01 PM

The only way I see Brodeur back is to give him a night off as we all know we will win against Germany and not have brodeur play back to back.... but after the fans were luuuu'ng all night long, then there will be riots tomorrow if we lose and brodeur in net.

no chance of brodeur playing tomm unless LU bombs in the first or second period

tacobell 02-23-2010 07:04 PM

if we lose tomorrow, there's gonna be riots regardless who's in net. Where is everyone watching the game tomorrow? it''s gonna be insane tomorrow

The 2 goals against Brodeur vs the Swiss weren't really anything he could have stopped. Oh, and I like how you completely ignore the fact he stopped all 4 shots in the shootout. The first goal Luongo let in tonight was a softie.

I'm all for Brodeur getting the start tomorrow because he's rested, and re focused , and he's faced the tougher opponents, and made some great saves against them (The USA to be specfic).

I'm not trying to bash Luongo, but he didn't have a great game. He was half decent. But with the way the team in front of him played, that was all he needed to be.

Hondaracer 02-23-2010 07:17 PM

Bottom line for me

brodeurs hybrid-stand up style is dinosaur hockey.

I think you took the wrong idea from my post. I was trying to suggest Brodeur to start since Lu isn't any better than Brodeur.
