Boom Ber' Chicken :sweetjesus:

+1. KFC fried chicken is too dry. They messed up Colonel Sanders' secret recipe.

The Church's on Kingsway near Slocan in east Van serves good chicken. -has drive through service at this 24 hour location. :drool

I always go to red rooster, now I'm gonna give LA a try

LA was a pretty big disappointment - Churches chicken is definitely waaay tastier in my opinion. LA is crunchy with respect to the chicken, but it's not seasoned nicely. The fries were also super bland, didn't want to finish them.

Napkins and ketchup packets are given out, not sure if they want to prevent being wasteful or they're just being cheap :suspicious:

i dont get the hype around LA chicken, it was mediocre at best.

im tempted to try that broasted chicken though and its right across the street from LA

In all fairness, they are a mom and pop shop so they need to watch their bottom line. All too often, people take advantage of places that offer napkins and condiments at their will.

Did you try the normal or spicy chicken when you went?

Yea way too much batter for me personally and agree the fries are inedible.

The broasted chicken place is interesting, its not super crispy but its fresh and the herbs and spices are indian/middle eastern.

Same goes for Lee's.

Spicy, crispy w/ fries and gravy. Onion nuggets are good too, although they're kind of pricey.

ZABU in downtown on robson for some double deep fried chicken and beer. korean style. MMmmmmmmmMMmmmmmMMmMmMmm nomonomonomonomonom

fried chicken at duffins only if it's fresh.

InvisibleSoul 12-01-2014 01:33 PM

Church's Chicken is offering 20% off of gift cards, and you set the amount you want to purchase.

For example, buying a $100 gift card will cost $80.

Don't know what the limit is if any as the form doesn't list any restrictions.

If you want, you can prepay enough to get 20% off Church's Chicken for life! Best part is this can still be combined with coupons and stuff that you would normally use.

You pay when you pick it up at the designated location.

The fried chicken is actually pretty good but $21 for a plate of chicken is kind of steep. But I'm pretty sure their "Whole Chicken" on the menu isn't really a entire chicken... unless I can eat 2 "whole chicken" by myself ...

Best Korean fried chicken downtown is now the Daeji on Robson (near Santouka and Guu). They also have decent pork katsu dinner sets. Unsure of the other Daeji locations quality.

Close second would be Olé Chicken on Robson across from Shenanigans. Zabu is only good for being open until 3am every night.

Just had some yummy hot and spicy Church's fried chicken for lunch today.

I thought I saw a new Church's in Richmond...but it might just be my mind playing tricks on me. Can anyone confirm/deny there's a new location in Richmond?

SpeedStars 12-24-2014 08:52 PM

What the guy above said. It's basically the previous DQ unit.

etodac 12-25-2014 08:38 PM

Tried LA chicken. Really crispy. The crispy/spicy is crispier and I love the kick and it's less salty. The regular is also crispy and a bit saltier than I would like it. It's better than KFC and Church's, but I'm not sure it's quite worth the price it's charged.
