We put out treat bags on our front gate. Total of 12 kids came, mostly younger with parents. This is in South Surrey. My baby is sleeping. Fireworks are going off. I have fingers crossed he doesn't wake up. |
Somebody left a tub of candy on our front step... Dunno wth that's about, maybe some Karen who thought I wasn't leaving candy out, or someone leaving out tainted candies.... Very weird |

Ladner is like a war zone right now. Hopefully the fireworks stop soon as I have a baby going to bed at 11 |
East Van Hastings sunrise was busy af as far as I could tell early in the night Wife and I then went over to a friends for dinner around 29th and king Ed and it was crazy there too, non-stop kids. As far as I could tell mostly people without masks larger groups etc. RIP Covid Count God, really disappointinf in a lot of ways because this would have been the ultimate haloween night otherwise. |
Yea was surprisingly busy around our neighborhood too. We left out candies hanging from a portable wardrobe thingy. Apparently just leaving them out in a basket wasn't advised since too many fingers could be rummaging through. The wife made a go of it. Wrapped it in decorative cobwebs and whatever other decorations we had kicking around. Turned out pretty nice actually haha. I did hear one kid walk up to it and say "I'm taking them all!" Haha little brats. They must have figured that one out pretty quick this year. Oh well i did the same at their age. Hopefully they learn their manners at some point. |
Count 10-14 days from today ... let's hope the +'ve Covid numbers don't shoot through the roof. |
2 dead, 5 injured, in Quebec, suspect in medieval garb in custody https://globalnews.ca/news/7435389/q...bladed-weapon/ |
Took my son out at 5 like everyone on the local fb page said they would. There were only 2 other families out at that time, which was probably for the best. Every house had their own method of candy delivery. The oddest was a family who dropped candy from their living room window with tongs down to us. None of it made it into my son's bag so I had to walk into their garden to collect it all. |
Halloween is now over which means all the candy in Halloween themed boxes go on sale. Time to load up. |

Took 2 of my kids out for 15-20 mins last night just so they weren’t completely robbed of Halloween. Drove them into a new subdivision so they could hit a decent amount of homes in a short amount of time. A few people sitting on their porches had masks on but none of the trick or treaters that I saw. That said, maybe 30% of the houses were participating so it was fairly quiet compared to last year I’m sure. We kept a good distance from everyone. If there weren’t individual bags on a table in the driveway to grab, people were using tongs or chutes to hand out treats. We all sanitized as soon as we got in the vehicle and those bags of treats are in quarantine for a week or two. We have enough candy around to last them until then. |
risking disease for a fucking piece of candy or a bit of fun. unbelievable. |
Thank God I won't ever have to see those hideous PhatBoys pop up again ... !!! I bet it isn't banned in other burbs like Surrey so it sux for you if you live there. This is the last Halloween fireworks will be legal in Vancouver https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/briti...uver-1.5766111 Ban on consumer fireworks starts Nov. 1, new rules aim to reduce property damage, injuries |
Fireworks aren’t legal in Surrey I usually drive into Van.. |
Even with the ban starting now. I have a feeling I will hear even more fireworks going off in Vancouver next year Halloween. |
This guy in New York built a 20 foot tall, and 50 foot long pirate ship in front of his house so that his kids can enjoy this Halloween decoration. Impressive. https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/31/us/sh...rnd/index.html -from the article: The whole project cost about $3,000 in supplies and took a week to build, he said |
^ K, I was impressed for about 5 seconds, then reality sank in and thought .. wut? What the hell are u going to do with that afterwards? Different philosophy of parenting, I guess. Sures hell wouldn't spend that much time or $$ on friggin Halloween! |
"spends 3000$ a year on smokes instead" |
I can't tell you how happy I am that fireworks is no longer legal to buy and set off in Vancouver !!! And that more and more districts are banning them. I think North Shore is the only one where you can buy them legally. |

I definitely don't mind the quietness though. |
Lol soft fucking people can’t handle a night of noise.. Vancouver is a no fun city!!! Noise after 7pm that wakes up my baby! No no no!!! |

Vancouver is a no fun city because there are idiots that ruin it for everybody else. It’s like Halloween gives them an excuse to be extra stupid. |
Everyone I knew had a great time growing up during halloween, whether it was trick or treating or fireworks in a park etc. never knew anyone too seriously hurt or causing property damage etc. Now a days everything is just sterilized and poo poo’ed to the point of I highly doubt halloween will exist in anything close to what we used to know in 20 years Sorry to the dick head who let’s his dog out to bark every morning at 6am that they can’t handle a bit of their own medicine once a year lol.. |
