Yup so did I.

Also my neighborhood in particular had like no kids, and any kids that were there would go elsewhere to trick or treat, cause it was so hilly, the houses had long drives, and they were far apart. So many years we would only get 1 or 2 kids come to our house.

Was always good for me, cause I remember so many people like basically dumping their bowls into my bag since I was like the only kid to come.

Halloween just isn't the same anymore. Stopped giving out candies years ago. There's probably only like 5 homes giving out candies on my block and only a handful of kids would stop by. They start and end early these days too. All done by 8pm. Sad.

ae101 10-30-2014 06:57 AM

i remember some ppl would give us a.scare after the open the door, it wasnt.anything crazy but they would wear mask & give shout before handing out candies

that.was great too, as they.are also enjoying the fun

When I grew up at 308 West 22nd in Vancouver, I remember the neighborhood was PACKED. Nearly every house gave out candy and my block had at least a hundred kids running from house to house until like 9-10 PM. Fuck I had a good childhood, shitty teen years though hahaha!

GLOW 10-30-2014 07:35 AM

i remember 1 house that had one of those huge meeting pad sheets taped to their door with a bright light on. it fully explained why they are not handing out candy as they don't believe in halloween. it took the entire page of writing to explain why. at the very bottom of it all it said "happy halloween" :lol every year it had that on the door with the light on.

i remember everyone going up to the door, reading it all, and then walking away like :seriously and then :okay:

People really like Halloween costumes in my workplace. -saw a girl dress up as a crazy clown today while holding a "fake" meat cleaver. Sooo scary! :heckno:

-sort of looks like Mr. Bean holding a weapon:

^^surprised the house hasn't been pipe bombed yet.

Was jesus mentioned in the writing?

Effigy of jesus nailed to a cross complete with blood running out of its eyes, mouth, ears, etc. would scare the bejesus out of me.

Then a sign that pops out of nowhere that reads, "Sinners Repent!"

Someone please post pics of hot chicks in halloween outfits. No halloween thread on RS is complete unless those are posted. I guess with spoiler tags, to keep mods happy.

Well, there is this Asian girl dressed in a 1920s "flapper dress".

No pics though. NSFW! She's better looking than those "ultra rich" Asian girls.

this was when i was a kid, but iirc nothing religious at all. i think they may have said they were atheist. we never understood why they didn't just keep their lights 'off' if they didn't want to hand anything out.

Very true, but don't you miss the assortment of random crap you would get?

I remember every year after we finished trick or treating, coming and emptying our loots on the living room floor...

I didn't go trick or treating very often - I didn't see the appeal of getting random candy, nor do I like candy all that much. I'm more of a potato chip kind of guy...

Spoiler!

It's never too early to teach your kids about taxes - something that you can never escape from! :lol

Would be funnier if they put "Just kidding - go ahead and knock on the door!" at the bottom just to troll you kiddies!

When I was a kid (Live at Coquitlam) I would go get candies form like 6pm to 10pm and have bags and bags of candies. Everyone was happy. Now it just seems Halloween is only for adults partying and drinking......... No fun anymore even for us who love to hand out candies.

was going to dress up for work but left my costume at home.... guess there is always next year.

MG1 10-31-2014 07:53 AM

Halloween, the one day of the year you have license to be a complete idiot.

Can't wait for day after to hear news stories of dumb things people did on Halloween.

I feel for the popo on this night.

Hopefully nothing fatal.... just lost fingers and blown off arms and shit.

GLOW 10-31-2014 08:44 AM

i thought it was the 1 day a year girls have a license to dress like sloots :ifyouknow::troll::ilied:

Just because he works for an airline doesn't automatically mean he's a pilot (maybe he is). :p

pastarocket 10-31-2014 09:17 AM

It's so quiet at work today. Many people are taking a day off on Halloween to get ready for trick or treat.

-took a selfie in my costume. Iron Man rules!! :fuckyea:

Driving around east van today I saw 3 blonde white preteens dressed in miniskirts and garters or fishnets all had long hair down to bum, yet Asian girls around the same age...6 of them were in stitch one sees. What gives?

ahh the good ol' days.... seriously, having white neighbours is the best, they're so into this shit and spend so much money decorating their house for halloween and christmas... makes for real festive times and some fun childhood memories

now i live in an area where 9/10 are chinese/mainlanders and i didn't have a single kid knock on my door, not that there were any houses on the block with decorations anyway

Lomac 10-31-2014 09:05 PM

Fuck, soooo many firework shows going on in Richmond. Got to view one right outside the hot tub window at my hotel.
