I don't mind hearing fireworks, firecrackers in the evenings. It's the fireworks, and firecrackers that kids light up at 3am, 4am on Saturday mornings that are an absolute pain. FeelsBadMan Good luck trying to sleep in my neighbourhood. It sounded like a warzone on an early Saturday morning. |

I miss the sounds of fireworks at night to be honest, was a cool part that made Vancouver so unique as opposed to other cities. It was part of the wild/hardness Vancouver represented from its past days. I agree with Honda, everything is so pacified now. I haven't heard a single firework go off this whole week out here in North Burnaby (which funnily enough has had a major tradition of lighting them off). |
Went to go pick up the wife last night downtown from her office and downtown was popping off with fireworks! Lol When I got home from work though I already saw cops on foot patrol around 545 so wondering if they hammering people lighting them off or would that be a bylaw thing |
Pretty active with the fireworks/fire crackers in south Surrey last night. Expecting about 2-3X the action tonight. A quiet Hallowe’en would be weird IMO. |

Looks like covid-19 doesn't spread on Halloween. Make every day Halloween, BOOM! pandemic over! |

left out candy in the bucket for kids... no kids came by. the neighbourhood was very quiet this year. Guess more candy for me |
Anyone put their christmas tree up already? |
so santa trick of treat? |
Zero kids this year, wow. Granted, didn't really spend that much effort into decorating, but just a simple sign and left the lights on. Dang... it kind of hurts a tiny bit. |
I don't mind *some* fireworks, I certainly can't complain too much given the New Years setups I've done with a couple buddies back in the day, but I find them more annoying at Halloween. At New Years you know that at midnight there's a bunch of bangs and then that's it, if you don't like it you can plan around it and worst case your kid is woken up/your dog is scared once. Halloween that shit is all over the place. We're on night 3 of them going off anytime from 7pm to 4am and it's gotten pretty old, especially since last night it scared my toddler awake which kept 3 of us up for an hour and a half which then screwed with today because we're all tired and cranky and still trying to let her enjoy her first semi-proper Halloween. /rant. |
Looks like a had about 10 to 15 kids come to my house. Both packs of real worms candy are gone. |
Had about 60 kids at my place, granted it is a townhouse complex area with plenty of young families. Fun to see the costumes again! |
South Surrey. Last year we had a few kids. This year, I did the same, and packed candy into individual bags that each child can take. We gave out around 60 bags. Fireworks were not as bad as previous years thankfully. My kids sleep was not disturbed. He was very scared by the sound throughout the evening leading up to bed time though. This morning, saw a few porta-potties on construction sites tipped over. I presume the responsible individuals are little shit heads. RIP. |
fireworks wasent so bad this year compared to the warzone everywhere last year lol fyi you can still buy em in North Van/Indian reserves all year round. seems like alot of the guys who used to sell in Vancouver are doing online for local pickup in Surrey this year looked like more kids out this year as well trick or treating but def ended way earlier because it was on a Sunday. |
