I wAnder how busy the emergency wards at the hospitals were last night and this morning. People doing dumb things. I'm fine with people hurting themselves, but hate it when innocent people and animals get hurt due to the actions of dumbasses.

Next door they're currently building a house, I wonder how impressed they're gonna be when they find out teens were dropping cherry bombs down there LOL

Fireworks display went awesome. Only had one misfire and one cake only fired off two of twenty rockets (consumer level fireworks suck :lol) . If any of you were driving down Hwy 15 between Hwy1 and 176th around 9:30-10pm, you probably saw our display. Had a nice mix of consumer and professional grade stuff. Grabbed video on the GoPro, so hopefully I'll have it up in a day or so.

2 weeks of planning and playing with timing software
10 hours of wiring on the day of
$3000 in fireworks
15 minutes of random blowing shit up fun for the kids
4:21 minute synchronized show

Haven't had this much fun during Halloween since I was a kid.

Impressive. When I saw your first pics I was wondering how much you spent... 3K is a lot of dough for <20 mins of entertainment but awesome nonetheless. Post a vid of the synchronized show anywhere?

I think Mother Nature tried to help as much as possible - it stopped raining during the main trick or treating time (630-830 ish) but started pouring rain later that night. Doesn't help that there was an extra hour to goof off.

MG1 11-01-2015 06:23 PM

Heard a three year old got hit last night. I don't know what "hit" referred to but I'm assuming with firecracker or fireworks. I was giving out candy last night and heard some crazy loud firecrackers going off.

It was good to see hoards of young trick or treaters walking together. Being visible and all. Halloween is so fun for kids. It's when they get older and start vandalizing and pulling pranks that make Halloween a nuisance.

lilaznviper 11-01-2015 06:34 PM

^drove through my neighbourhood and saw a lot of kids in black costume without any reflectors on... like WTF

Jas29 11-01-2015 06:34 PM

The three year old was hit by a truck in Surrey on 132 and 62 Ave in Surrey.

I live pretty close to there and walk my dog by there sometimes and I have almost been hit a couple of times. They have made that cross-walk safer by adding lights that are activated by pedestrians a couple of months ago.

Nothing too crazy for Halloween this year. Took our 1 yr old to the mall and fought the crowds of people for a few candies, coupons and stickers lolz

So here is a picture of my awesome pumpkin carving skills

same here, had so many close calls and always took forever to cross there because no one would ever stop. so happy they installed those lights.. now if only the city would do something about the 4-way stop on 60th and 132.

Jas29 11-01-2015 08:32 PM

60th is way to busy now from kg to 132nd so many people go down 60th to get to highway 10 instead of going up kg.

I don't know if a light would work there a roundabout might be a better option

We must live walking distance from each other lol

Well a good chunk of change was recovered through donations by friends and family that attended. As for video, well... the GoPro is giving my friend fits right now, though he's hoping to have it up soon. A family friend posted a low quality cellphone video online however. Starts off with consumer stuff, then slowly builds into the professional grade fireworks.

Would hope so... it's a professional grade firing system. :p :lol A DIY remote system for fireworks scares me. At least with this we can pause the show, shut down certain rigs in case of an issue, set off a spare firework in case a dud occurs, etc., etc. Much safer to use.

Hah. My friend and I, while setting up, were joking around about how it might end up like that 4th of July display down south a few years back:

(seriously turn down your volume for this video)

Actually is hard to say. I don't really want to take them back to my hotel and wake up in a bathtub with my kidney missing...... you never know in China. Also I didn't have a condom in my wallet that time...... ><
