wheres a good place in vancouver that I would be able to rent a costume for a day or 2? |
If you guys are cheap and want to make a custom mask with little to no experience, just use cast material you can buy at a medical supply store. The cast material comes in rolls like bandages. You soak it in water just enough to saturate it. You smear vaseline all over your face, including eyebrows and facial hairs. The vaseline ensures the cast material does not stick to your hairs. You need another person to place the material over your face. Use a straw to breathe through. I guess you need to trust the person a bit, hee hee. The cast material dries pretty quick. You can add as many layers as you like. Once the cast material has dried, you can take the mask off and shape it further. The cool thing is, it is conformed to the actual shape of your face. You can paint the material, add fake hair, the sky's the limit. Don't cheap out on the vaseline, lol. And, have lots of the material on hand, as you can return what's not used. You can buy the plaster of paris cast tape at Regency Medical Suppies located kitty corner to BCIT on Canada Way next to the Chevron gas station. They are open Saturday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Disclaimer: If your dumbass friend decides to plug the straw you are breathing through, you deserve to die, LOL. BTW, elementary kids make masks this way, so it should be pretty safe. |

No costume this year. Instead, this is only a fraction of what I'll be doing this evening... https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...1f&oe=56B9F606 https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...6f&oe=56B2A74F :fullofwin: Permit was okay'd by the city, so we're gonna have some fun tonight! However, the rain is gonna suck. Makes electronic remote firing a little more annoying. :( |
waited on buying a pumpkin until last night, no store in maple ridge/pitt meadows had pumpkins -_- will try the patch this morning or coquitlam -_- |

I thought airbombs are considered noisemakers only and are banned for sale? |

Not local but this is one of the most randomly obscure badass costumes I've seen in some time. Those who know, know. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...psb3tbsimd.jpg |
Not actually sure if they're restricted or not. We're licensed pyrotechs though so we do have access to stuff normally not allowed by the general public. And, while I live in Kamloops, I'm currently down on the coast. Putting on a show in Surrey with some friends. |

Chipotle Chipotle Boorito Event: Wear a Costume & Get a Burrito, Bowl, Salad, or Order of Tacos for $3 From 5 PM to Close (October 31 Only) |
While ppl are lighting their fireworks I'm stuck at home comforting my dog. I'll be ready to call the non emergency line at 12am for noise complaints if it doesn't stop. I don't mind if they're just fireworks and not firecrackers but I noticed a lot of teens/adults illegally setting them off either out on the streets, days before Halloween or doing retarded things with them. |

Fireworks display went awesome. Only had one misfire and one cake only fired off two of twenty rockets (consumer level fireworks suck :lol) . If any of you were driving down Hwy 15 between Hwy1 and 176th around 9:30-10pm, you probably saw our display. Had a nice mix of consumer and professional grade stuff. Grabbed video on the GoPro, so hopefully I'll have it up in a day or so. 2 weeks of planning and playing with timing software 10 hours of wiring on the day of $3000 in fireworks 15 minutes of random blowing shit up fun for the kids 4:21 minute synchronized show = :fullofwin: https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...9a&oe=56AD4CE8 Haven't had this much fun during Halloween since I was a kid. |
