Where do you get the information on the upcoming Orientation?

Check your BCIT email. Your program head should've given you instructions.

I guess they didn't send anything yet.
I've checked every tab.
I'll probably just grab my very own ID card first :D

I posted a link with all the information you need. Orientation can be done in any group, you do not need to be with your classmates. You just go to the Great Hall and there will be student volunteers that will take you around the campus to show you around.

CaseyusMaximus 09-05-2014 09:01 PM

Just started the BITMAN program, going great so far. A BCIT car meet would be sick though, thats for sure. Anybody else interested in doing this?

If driving to school, what options do I have besides $26.25/week for parking on campus? Does Shriners charge for their lot now, and do they not even allow it anymore?

TOS'd 09-17-2014 09:25 PM

What time are your classes? Theres usually some free parking east along Canada Way in the residential areas. Or even parking somewhere south on willingdon and catching a quick bus one or two stops with your upass would work too.

guesswho 09-17-2014 09:33 PM

lot A and B fill up by 7:15 now since they closed down 90% of lot B, and the next lot is so far :fuuuuu:

They're at 7:30, but I would probably arrive around 7 or even earlier if it meant finding a consistent location to park in.

behind the shriners on Westminster Ave would be your best bet, not sure when it fills up now though

My classes started at 7am last year. And when I got to school a little before that, there would definitely be spots in the neighbourhood. Closest free parking would be on Westminster Ave. (East of Wayburn) along the tree line.

Wordsworth and Westminster is the best place if you come early. There is a free lot near the church but that is a 15 minute walk (Plus side there is always parking). The other place is the Gravel parking lot that doest fill up til 8ish but is paid

Welcome to BCIT

Arirang 10-07-2014 09:24 PM

Who do you have for CISA Huntea? It's defintely a lot harder for you guys since they changed up the class schedule.

Gerbs 10-15-2014 08:44 AM

BCIT : : Computer Information Systems Administration

Planning to transfer, any inputs on the program? Also enterprise vs network SA?

Arirang 10-15-2014 11:06 AM

There shouldn't be an enterprise option anymore, there should just be NSA. That's what I was told before I graduated.
First year it'll lay down the basics for you to get into networking and servers. Overall it was pretty easy going. The second year you will get more in depth with the cisco equipment as well as servers.
At the end of every year you will have a month long project which will encompass everything that you have learned in the school year. First year I was put with a random bunch of people but second year we were all able to choose who we wanted to work with.
