Full time or part time? And what discipline? Architectural? Structural?

Full time and not sure about architectural or structural. Both write ups sound the same/very similar.

It may have changed from when I took fulltime drafting programs, but it was very condensed like everything at BCIT. It doesnt focus on just drafting, it focuses on techniques for both manual and CAD, CAD standards, it'll probably involve some sort of mathematics classes as well as building code stuff.

Also from what I remember it wasnt organized very well so deadlines were always changing, too much work was given at once meaning instructors had to re-think lessons and scheduling etc..

How long is the program you're looking to take? If it's only a 1 year program I'd save your money for at least something that gives you a diploma.

Does anyone know if all of BCIT closes for winter vacation on the same day or is it program dependant?

As far as I know parking passes go by semester and I cant tell when the last day of first semester is before break

Jonydakiller 09-01-2012 10:51 PM

^^program dependant, when I was in EE we had classes through winter vacation except xmas.
I miss skippin' class and play cards @ great hall

nabs 09-02-2012 12:12 AM

^^
when did you grad from EE? its only ECET and EE students that don't get spring break, or get only a few days off for winter break. the rest of the programs get proper breaks.

Thanks for clarifying further. Do the rest of the programs all get off for break on the same day though?

I'm only asking because parking/semester asks for start and end date of the semester.

nabs 09-02-2012 12:26 AM

yeah normally same date... then exams are the following week. don't forget about exams.

Okami 09-02-2012 10:59 AM

One useful tip from me. Find out if your department supplies you guys with free lockers or not. If they do, then snag a good one early.
