Honestly I would consider living on campus or closer to Burnaby. Commute to school is at least an hour every morning for me and I dont even have to cross the port mann. I can only imagine how long it would take you.
Also from what I have heard from CST students/potentials, they spend almost all of their time on campus anyway.. | Yeah I'm in CST right now, taking a break to do extended work term. We practically lived on campus and that was even in 1st/2nd level, where it's supposed to be an intro to the whole thing, because options begin in 3rd level. If your commute is going to be an issue, try and find someone/people to carpool with. I think we had three classmates carpooling to/from school, trading off who would drive.
Seriously though. We were on campus from 8 in the morning (some came earlier because they had long commutes and wanted to beat traffic) til at least 8 at night. Some even came in on weekends to get everything done/check over code.
Do everything and anything in your power to get out of the projects courses (get credit for them from something). It sounds fun cause they're like "yo, you get to build lego robots" but seriously, if you can avoid it, do so. It is the most stressful course you can probably get into. More so if you're stuck with people who like to control everything and/or shoehorn their ideas in. |
