drove rwd car tonight in snow with all-seasons, up hill, down hill, etc... no problem.

problem is if the roads have salt, can't drive then... not exactly the best thing for an older car (causes rust later down the road).

Shit, it's so bad out there. I had to leave my friends house, going down Victoria Drive towards Marine and my brakes jam up, lol. The car in front of me which was a newer Civic is going down fine and I assume the driver hit the brakes too hard because he/she went flying over the curb and almost smoked a tree. I basically drove in 2nd gear and used 1/2 going downhill with any problems.

It still baffles me that some drivers think they can speed in this weather, I must have counted at least 12 drivers who smoked the curb.

gonna be a pain in the ass to shovel the driveway and walksways in the morning

spoon.ek9 11-20-2010 12:26 AM

^ people can barely handle driving properly in the rain around here. the snow generally GG's a lot of drivers out there.

worst is when people think snow tires make them a better driver or invincible to snow as well.

yup, i know what you mean. what's worse is people who still think 4x4 means they don't need snow tires at all :lol

totally. and the c-lai driven rav4's, cr-v's, etc. i cannot understand how they don't get the concept of traction. 4x4 is useless if none of your tires have traction!

now for all you RWD BMWs and Lexus dudes some weight in the back is golden, just like the good old days. a 50lb sack of rice or anything around that much in your trunk will do wonders when you have a nice set of winter tires. I can't believe so many people don't know that. I remember as a kid. That's what people did when most cars were RWD. Personally I like using a couple weight lifting plates in the trunk so you still have a trunk. Driving in the snow when I had my S2K was not a problem.

Cool thanks, dude.

Just confirmed my original thoughts, but I've heard a couple other guys with fwd talking about adding weight in the back and I was like wtf..
