had to drive from van back to surrey, saw a bunch of cars and buses stuck. Im surprised my G35 with summer tires handled it with barely any problems.

genesis195 11-20-2010 01:17 AM

If you need to drive 20 in this snow? wtf were you doing 2 seaons ago? holy shit. I thought there was terrible drivers in richmond, i didn't know it was that bad.

If you can't drive 45 with snow tires and all wheel drive. you should go live in cali or somewhere really warm.

AzNightmare 11-20-2010 01:52 AM

I hope everyone gets scared and takes the transit.
So I have the road to myself, and then I can get to places efficiently.

Anjew 11-20-2010 01:55 AM

i agree

if someone drives 20 in the snow, its best for them to stay home and NOT drive.

And to the person with summer tires on the snow, you know if you get into an accident and icbc find out you are using summer tires in this weather you will be liable.

dbaz 11-20-2010 01:58 AM

its richmond, maybe 1% of people know how to drive in snow why the hell would you want to go faster than everyone else it seems stupid to me. granted the conditions arent that bad id figure people would still be aware of this and go a bit slower not only for the safety of themselves but for others. just because you have snow tires and all wheel drive doesnt mean you'll stop perfectly especially if the person going 20 decides to cut you off. i completely understand that 20 is stupid but still.

keifun 11-20-2010 02:03 AM

i was having fun driving my WRX for the first time in the snow.

drove from richmond all the way back to Vancouver..saw a bunch of BMW's, SLKs, C-class's, G35's etc. stuck on the hills on Knight St. {marine-57th} {37th-33rd} {kingsway-12th}etc.

Euro7r 11-20-2010 02:04 AM

Don't know why everyone thinks ppl drive like shit in Richmond. The person driving in Richmond could be from Burnaby or something, it's the driver, not the place. I guess people have just associated Richmond has a bad driving place with bad drivers =/.

TypeRNammer 11-20-2010 02:11 AM

Did anyone see the sky flash green for a few seconds?

jaebomb 11-20-2010 02:15 AM

It happened twice right? We thought someone musta hit an electrical pole somewhere. The flash was HUGE

lilkulit 11-20-2010 04:51 AM

^ Lightning maybe? But saw it too and yes it was HUGE! Look to be around surrey area these was around 3am.

bcrdukes 11-20-2010 05:21 AM

Was just Downtown and drove through East Vancouver. Most roads are clear. Just take caution on residential streets but I think all this snow is going to turn into slush tomorrow.

MG1 11-20-2010 05:32 AM

This is what I love about RS. Up to the minute weather reports from around the GVRD. I'm gonna head out soon and now know it is safe to drive with slicks on........ j/k. Got all seasons on the daily driver, but good snows on other vehicle. Sounds like I can putter around in the daily driver today. Thanks, RS.............

I'm so glad I left surrey early last night, left at 10 when the snow was starting to come down hard, my friend who left at 11 got stuck and pulled into a wal-mart. He blames it on driving a "two-wheeler" and not having snow tires lol. How's the weather now?

When I was driving around midnight there was noticeable snow but nothing my car couldn't handle and drove the one with A/S >.< kinda regret it cause it wasn't very fun. I think what made it so hard for me was driving down 91 with maybe 15 ft of visibility, there wasn't any snow on the road or anything but visibility is a big issue, so for those of you with poor lighting and wipers maybe it's time to replace them too!

hc529 11-20-2010 06:26 AM

roads in poco are fine nothing, no slush or anything!

how's sfu right now? because i gotta go to work later =(

alwaysideways 11-20-2010 08:14 AM
