The ferrynis fuckd. I'm catching the 4:45 to vancouver and they just finished loading the 3:20. Over an hour and 20 minutes late. |
i'm surprised it's running. my brother is an engineer on the oak bay. basically everything is frozen. they couldn't sail yesterday - all the rescue boats were frozen in the davits. take a dump at the terminal before casting off - i don't think the toilets are working. |

Holy crap. WJ may be suspending flights out of YVR tonight (until tomorrow afternoon), and YYZ tomorrow until further notice. Merry X mas. Yikes. |
i think my coworker's vacation is fubar'd now |
Some people annoy me in this weather. I was driving behind this Lexus UX on a pretty much plowed road doing 20 km/h the whole way with other cars trailing right behind me. Might as well stay home if you’re going to drive that slow. |
A lot of those types today, and the usual driving without their lights on, plus ppl who can't seem to see the lines on the road even tho the roads are clean |
Seems almost as if people are using the snow to drive like even bigger idiots with behavior having nothing to do with the snow. Seeing people casually run obvious red lights on a left turn, pedestrians walking across a green light with oncoming traffic, another driver pulling a u turn randomly in the middle of busy traffic, buddy guy in a Tesla speeding behind me in snow-covered right lane towards a parked car, would've absolutely slid into the car and then into me in the left lane if I didn't slow down and let him in last minute. |

Saw a video of an MC20 being pushed thru the slush downtown :lol wtf |
Started snowing in Coquitlam now |
Tonight, I was behind a guy going 25km/h down Rupert north of 41st Ave all the way to Grandview. In a Delica :fulloffuck::fulloffuck: -- Also, while heading Northbound on Gaglardi from the freeway, I started slowing down as I approached the red light at Cariboo. That's when I realized I wasn't stopping :fuckthatshit: As I'm about to kiss the rear end of a BMW, I veer to left and use a snowbank as a runaway lane. It worked. After going face-first into it, I quickly reversed and realigned myself back in the left lane. The light was green for about 10 solid seconds before the BMW started moving. He might have peed a little as he saw a Ginsu grill in his rearview. I have winter tires but black ice is like shingles: It doesn't care. |
Felt like I was pushing the limits of my snow tires tonight. There was a fair of sliding on the side streets tonight for me on the slightest inclines, but thankfully I slowed down early enough to avoid any accidents. With all the freezing rain that's expected tomorrow, I'm just going to stay put and hope the power doesn't cut out in my neighborhood. |

Power flickered once tonight. It's coming down. Better to be at home than stuck in an airport. |
Haven't been out since it snowed earlier in the week. Was surprised to see how shitty the roads were in Richmond last night. Came back into Burnaby an hour ago and didn't see a single plow in sight, so it's pretty shitty everywhere right now. I laughed when the person on the radio told everyone to stay home if they didn't need to be out. I bet 95% of everyone listening to the radio is because they're in their car. And of course I'm tired as fuck since it's 6AM, but I had to shovel the snow in the driveway and sidewalk. God damn, I hate snow. |

Doesn't look like it snowed much at all overnight, imagine a lot of ppl will think "it's not bad at all" n head out today |

there's almost no new snow here on the shore this morning - and it's warming up. I have to go to work, so we'll see what the roads are like in the next hour. Flight status: our flight tomorrow is still showing on-time, but today's equivalent outbound flight at 6pm has been cancelled. Today's the last day I can cancel the accomo so it's going to be a dice roll. |
i went to life labs and it was fine this morning. But there wasnt really anyone on the road. I think it'll get a lot worse today before the rain comes tonight. |
I think everyone can understand delays and cancellations when it’s snowed 18 inches It’s cancellations and staff shortages when it hasn’t snowed for 4 days that are the issue. I follow a bunch of mechanics and flight crew on IG and they are now calling out the CEO of YVR in their posts so I’m pretty sure part of it is the ineptitude of management |
