The current gen MBA 11" has virtually the same resolution as the current gen MBP 13". Even though the MBA has a smaller display you can fit just as much on the screen.
Now the MBP 13" is a different story, higher resolution than the MBP 13"...

Going to pull the trigger and get a Pro (no retina for me)
Do you guys recommend the Hi-Res Antiglare Widescreen Display or Hi-Res Glossy Widescreen Display? And should I upgrade the RAM?

Glossy screen looks great indoors and out of direct light... In bright or outdoor conditions its like trying to use an iPad in the sun, impossible!
Ram is ram, go to NCIX and buy apple compatible ram (even though most "standard" ram works fine) and install it yourself. Last time I checked I saw a 16gb kit, 2x 8gb dimms, going for under $100.

For those of you who did the optibay ssd upgrade how did you go abouts doing it?
I've gone from a smaller hard drive to a bigger one, which was easy since I just made an exact copy of the drives.
But how did you do it going the other way? Did you just reinstall a fresh copy of OSX and moved/redownloaded what you needed? Or moved everything over to a backup drive up to the size of the SSD and then made the direct copy?

If you have Avion, wait till British airways have their 1.5X points event then use it. For example, 50,000 BA points will get you a round trip ticket to Hong Kong. Or exchange it to Cathay Pacific Asia Miles and fly to HK for 60,000 or fly business for 120,000 Asia miles.
I know it's off topic but that's how you should use it. If you just have regular rbc rewards then..whatever hahah

Honestly? I'd spend that points on flying strictly. 30K points for $250 GC isn't bad.
You can buy an economy ticket from Cathay and upgrade with Asia miles for a round trip Business class ticket. It's only 70,000 points to upgrade. Give yourself a holiday.

Macbook Air vs Macbook Pro
I need it for school and I'm going into Electronical Engineering. I'm not quite sure if I will be running any applications but let's just say I might. So any ideas what I should get for school?

Anyone else update to 10.8?

If you had a bunch of windows open you could not see each window unless you did the application view expose.
I have to say I like 10.8 because they fixed my main workflow issues.
1. It feels fast.
2. "save as" can be enabled, which is better than not having it at all.
3. You can ungroup windows by applications by default in expose.
Still not happy that I can't access my NAS with SMB like in 10.6.

I don't notice much in terms of speed increases on my rMBP but some things feel smoother like scrolling in Safari or previewing photos in Lightroom.
